When we are in Life Mode you think we will be doing the hitting for pitchers also? I know we only control the innings that we pitch but what about when you have to bat?

Based on success mode, probably not - although that's too bad. I love having a pitcher who can make it happen at the plate. Especially with guys like Zambrano, Micah Owings, and Sabathia now in the NL, it's getting to be a neat feature of baseball.

Brandon Backe is a solid hitter as well.

Carlos Marmol is a pretty decent hitter in this game, he used to be a Catcher and an Outfielder.

I think there's a good chance you'll hit if you pitch in the NL, I think. It kinda makes sense to me, anyway. I guess we'll just have to see.

With Konami's oversights? I wouldn't be surprised if they forgot to let you have your AB, and just assumed you struck out looking each time (how CC would be pissed).

I'd really like it if they'd abolish the "DH" in both leagues... we pamper pitchers enough with pitch counts and 7th inning, setup, closers, mop-up, swing men, and situational lefties as it is...

Of course, I'm more of the old school baseball, more complete games and all that jazz.

In the Japanese games I've played, you didn't play at-bats for pitchers or have any control for defense in the field. I have no idea if they've implemented that in the more recent games or not.

I agree with MaxDSterling about pitchers. Last night was a great example. The Mets were winning in 5-2 in the top of the ninth. They didn't let Santana go a complete game, and they lost 8-6.

Ooh, that was a tough loss for the Mets last night.

It's kind of like that with the Red Sox, lately their bullpen has been at their worst.Although in yesterdays game they blew the shutout thinking Daisuke could go more than 7 innings

I think one of the main reasons pitchers are getting hurt more often and getting tired so soon is because they are being pampered. If they had to throw 100+pitches more often, they'd be conditioned to be more productive in "long" outings and throw more complete games. The state of the game is causing a weakening of pitchers or at least that's what I think.
