O.K., I know I just said I was done doing logs for the year, but yeah, I lied. :D This is my first attempt at a My Life Log on Power Pros. I did do the Leo Hayward one though. I'm gonna do this in the view as Yakker's agent, I think. No promises about how long this will last. But to get us started, lets do some stats!

So, I now have Benjamin Yakker as my client. He has one of the best curves I've ever seen. I really tried to convince the staff that this kid is for real, but they would go no higher than $390,000. I guess I'll get him the big contract next year, because he's gonna need it. He volunteered to donate $1,000 for every save to charity, but the coach screwed up the writing, and he now owes $10,000 per save.

Yakker pitched great in Spring Training, and earned a spot on the big league roster. He started as a Set-Up Man, but after Billy Wagner blew a save on Opening Day, Yakker got the nod next game, and recorded his first save. Since then, he has recorded 5 more, and is up to 6 on the year, and its only April 21st! He also has not given up a run yet, and is ERA is 0.00. He strikes out batters left and right.

Yakker and I have been hanging out often as well, and I would say we have a 5-star friendship. We play a lot of chess, but he's only beat me once. We also go out for dinner if we hear about a good restaurant. As far as girls go, he hasn't really been going after anyone, even though I think Mia has a crush on him.

I think that is about it so far, keep your eyes open for him, and I'll keep you posted on the inside scoop.

June 1st, 2008

Since our last update, Yakker hasn't been doing as well. He blew 2 saves, on April 22nd against the Cubs, and on May 25th against the Rockies. Pitching against the Rockies was his first appearance in 12 days! I asked him what was up after that game, and he said he just wasn't in the mood to pitch after being on the bench for 12 days straight. Over that span, the Set-Up Man, Heilman, had 3 saves! I'll have to talk to the manager about that.

Despite having 1 blown save, Yakker won Relief Pitcher of the Month and Rookie of the Month for April, going 0-1, with 9 saves in 10 opportunities, 2.00 ERA, 19.0 innings pitched, and 35 K's. The team is doing well, and they are in 1st place, going 18-10, 3.5 games ahead of the Braves.

On Mother's Day, the manager asked me if Yakker would make a donation. To what? The mother's foundation?? He didn't even tell me what I was donating to! Anyway, I told him no, because Yakker is already gonna be in the negatives after this season, if he keeps up the pace.

Yakker still isn't dating anyone, I'm glad that he's waiting for the right girl to come along.

For the Month of May, the Mets didn't do as well along with Yakker, and were only 14-14, bumping up their record to 32-24. That puts them in 2nd place, .5 game behind the Braves.

Yakker is now 0-2, 12 saves in 15 opportunities, a 3.12 ERA, with 26.0 innings pitched, and 40 strikeouts.

Going into June, I hope that he gets more opportunities to pitch, because he was really down in the dumps after that 12 game spell on the bench. I think he will come back and have a great June, but that's just me. Let's hope for a great month of June!!

Wow, that really hurts. Yakker was awarded the loss in the All-Star game, after giving up a solo homer that proved to be a game winner in the 6th inning. After the game, some other agent was talking to Yakker, but Yakker told him he already had an agent he was happy with. That's my boy!

Yakker won Rookie of the Month in June, and I think he's pretty much a lock to win Rookie of the The Year. His stats at the All-Star break are 0-2, with 23 saves in 26 opportunities, a 2.72 ERA, 43.0 IP, and 56 punch-outs. The 23 saves leads the MLB!

I'm angry because Heilman has 15 save opportunities, and 2 saves, and Wagner has 13 opportunities and 5 saves. Even with all those blown saves, they still put them in to close!! I don't know why they don't use Yakker as closer, have Heilman pitch the 8th, and Wagner do the 7th. It doesn't make sense. Or they could trade one of them, and get somebody who can actually hit on this team.

Despite all that, the Mets are 60-36, 8 games ahead of the Marlins. We have some of the best pitching here, and some of the worst hitting. Let's hope for a good 2nd half of the season!

It records save opportunities weird in this game. I think if someone goes in in the 8th inning and they could get a save if they pitched the rest of the game it counts as a save opportunity.

If that's not the case, I really have no idea how a set-up man can go 0/15 in save opportunities with an ERA under 1.

I've noticed this as well. I'm pretty sure it does what cooldude said.

Um... Benjamin Yakker got shot, didn't you hear? Yeah, this is dead, sorry.

I've been playing Madden 11 non-stop the past few days. 6-1 in an Eagles season. Only loss to the Falcons. Way to play against your former team, Mike.
