To paraphrase the great Charles Dickens...
"It was the best of times, it was the time of their lives, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of experience, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season for baseball, it was the spring of hope, it was the first pitch being thrown, we had everything before us, we had our careers to build, we were all going direct to Heaven, we felt we were in Heaven (baseball heaven, that is)..."

This is a story of two baseball players, Great White, closer for the Toronto Blue Jays, and Raul Hernandez, shortstop for the Boston Red Sox.

More coming later...

I thought it was the best of times and the worst of times. Unless you changed that part too...

So how exactly are you doing a 2-player life story? Using 2 save slots?

yeah.

no, actually i'm using one slot for two players.

Spring Training, Raul Hernandez:
Worked on my power, it's definitely my weakest area. I feel confident that I can beat Lugo and Lowrie for the SS job, but it'll be tough. My fielding is definitely on par with the other guys, and my swing feels great. I just hope the coach doesn't give me an impossible task to win the job...

Raul Hernandez:
Good news:
I'm starting, batting sixth in the lineup against the Yankees (Aye caramba!)
Bad news:
Remember this?

Well, I have to get at least 2 hits in all the exhibition games, otherwise I'll be a AAAer.
We'll just have to see, I guess.

You could've edited one player and used a save slot for the other that way they could interact.

Nah, i'm fine like this.

Raul:
I went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a run, a RBI, and two stolen bases (one of third!), so I'm definitely safe for now.
Unfortunately, our bullpen collapsed, and we gave up 2 runs in the 9th to tie 3-3...
Later:
I must've really impressed, because I'm batting 2nd against Chris Carpenter and the Cards. Should be exciting.

So why not just make 2 seperate logs then? Or will they be interacting later on? Or did you just want to have that Charles Dickens opening?

A bit of both.
They ARE in the same division, in case you didn't notice, so yeah.

Is anybody else following this?
I feel lonely...

Raul:
Crap.
I got a double and that was it, so I'm not going to Japan...
Always wanted to go there, but oh well.
Some other guys got sent down too, like Oakley and Javier Lopez, who's starting for us today.

Do they play in Japan or is it just the regular stadium?

Post subject:  Re: A Tale of Two Players...

I dunno.

Raul (finishing A's series, then on to Great White):
Take that, Epstein.
Today, against Matt Morris, I went 5-5 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI, 5 runs and 5 stolen bases.
I swear, the catchers wait until I'm sliding into second before they throw. I stole third twice, and I could've done it standing up.
Well, hopefully that means I'll get called up soon, before Oakley does, that little punk.

Raul:
Geez, 3-4 (all doubles) with 2 RBIs (the game-winning RBIs, actually), a run, and 3 stolen bases (all of third).
We won 3-1, and I'm 8-9 this season, for a BA of .889

Great White:
I feel so much better after hearing the news from coach...
Apparently the team has had trouble with their relievers, so he told me that I have a real chance at one of the spots.
I've been practicing my knuckle-curve, and now that the exhibition games have started, I think it's a very high 2, almost a 3 on a scale of 1-7.
Of course, I'm going to be facing the Rays, so I'll just have to see for myself.
Just gotta keep any runs from scoring (I'm not starting any games though, need to work on my stamina a little more for that work...)
