I just got traded for the first time EVER in MLB Life mode. I'm in year 2 with the Cubs, and here at the beginning of May, my manager comes up to me and says, "Uh *My name*, good luck tomorrow with the Mariners." The reason I don't know if this is a good thing, mainly because I don't know how good the Mariners are, and just the day before, I was announced player of the month along with Sabathia AND K-Rod who are both Cubs right now! So it's a little disappointing leaving a team with players like that, but oh well. I'm a left fielder, but with Soriano playing left field, I was SHARING first base with Derrek Lee, so maybe now I'll get more playing time.

Do you like Cubs that much?
If you do, you should start again and play better than the last time you did, so that you'll be a starter
If you don't, then you should continue
If you cannot decide, see which team is better, the Mariners or the Cubs

I'd rather choose to see which one is better than the other, then join the better one

Getting traded off a team with sabathia, K Rod, and Soriano (plus probably A. Ramirez, D. Lee, Fukudome) seems like a bad move for you to me. In My Life you will have to single- handedly carry your team to the WS with 2+ HRs a game and 4+ RBIs if you dont have decent players around you. Ichiro is great, but the rest of the mariners aside from Felix are pretty sad.

I would have s/l until that trade didnt happen if I were on a team with all that talent and got traded. Then again, being platooned at 1st base when you are a LF isnt ideal either, so the change in scenery might be good for your playing time. I tend to try and pick positions that the team I want to play for needs when I do My Life with a player, so I dont get stuck at catcher or something when I am a SS (which has happened to me also).

If you cant go back and s/l, I guess just play it out, but it sure makes going to the WS easier if you have a decent team around you (especially pitching).

I've already saved it, and I actually loved the move. I'm still a little upset leaving the Cubs with those good players, but since I've joined the Mariners, we've gone from last place, six games out of first, to second place, two games back!

yeah. every team does, and try to exploit it as much as you can, regardless of your little power.

Yeah, getting on a team that has Ichiro hitting in front of you shouldnt ever be too bad a thing. And platooning at your position on your old team wasnt ideal, so the trade probably works out better for your player. Its just hard to leave a sure-fire 1st place team. But the good news is now you have the chance to be an impact player, and help your new team get into the playoffs and (hopefully) win the WS. Who knows? maybe you'll even get to beat your old team along the way, and make them regret trading you

I just singlehandedly led the Mariners to the World Series since the trade! We lost the World Series in seven games to the Mets, but man it feels good knowing I was the big part in leading the team to the World Series. I was the left fielder batting fourth, and Richie Sexson was the number five batter. Almost any time I got a base hit, Richie Sexson would drive me in! Now I'm in 2010 and I'm the DH for the Mariners.

OH YEAH! The Mariners picked up some HUGE players over the off-season!

They got some other good players, but these were the REALLY good ones, and they got all these players after signing my huge, almost 8.5 million dollar contract!
