I think the game generates runs for your team in a different way once you get taken out of the game. If they removed me in the first inning, the team would probably get 10 runs without a problem, and if they left me in longer, they would get 0.

Offseason:

I won the Pitcher of the Year Award, this makes it 5 years in a row with me taking that, some day I'll have to leave that award to someone else, but I'm hoping my dominance lasts at least a few more amazing years. I led the league in strikeouts and ERA, but not wins, so no Triple Crown this year.

The team held a victory parade for the World Series win, considering how long it's been since this team has won the World Series, the parade was surprisingly underwhelming, but it was still a good experience, and I had fun with it.

To negotiate my contract, I went with Darryl again, why not? He came back with, as always, an offer of the maximum salary allowed, the Cubs offered 30 million for one year. I don't know why they wouldn't want to sign me long-term, but I'm fine with these contracts as I'm confident in my ability to come back and earn a new 30 million dollar contract next year as well, so I signed.

In early Spring Training practices, my coach kept getting on me about how I was practicing even though I can't possibly get any better at anything. I'm still not sure if he was joking or not. Did he want me to just sit around and watch everyone else practice instead?
