i went with darrl again. still a bad deal, but that could be because of my 250k fans..6.8 mil for a .455 35 HR 130 RBI.
so much for 5 star friendship.

So is the best agent Darryl or does it vary?

I did some experimenting after year 3, saving right before you have to pick an agent to negotiate your contract, and then trying different scenarios. Here were my options:

* Matthew (5 stars)
* Michael (2 stars)
* Darryl (1/2 star - had just gotten him)

Background: started year 1 at $390,000, got a raise to $800,000, then $1.2 million. In year 3 I won the batting title with a .378 average, hit 15 homeruns, had 51 RBI (leadoff hitter), and 35 SB (second in the league). I also won the World Series MVP for the second year in a row and raised my level to "B."

Reloading several times and choosing Darryl each time, he'd get me between $2.7-3.2 million on the first negotiation, and anywhere from +$75K to -$500K on the second negotiation. Third negotiation was always less than the second.

Repeated with Matthew, he'd get me between $2.9-3.1 million on the first try, and from +$50K to -$100K on the second. Third negotiation was either another +$50K if that's what the second try yielded, or a low ball offer like $2.2-2.4 million.

Michael was worthless, he'd get $2.2-2.4 million on the first try and substantially less on subsequent tries.

Yea, I'm trying to befriend some of the agents right now, at this rate, by the end of the year, I'll be good friends with all of them, at least 4 stars. I'll try it out to see what happens, I better get alot of money to, considering I'm the best pitcher out there right now.

Stupid Sabthia, trying to take the Triple Crown from me....

Okay, I experimented, and I found out the pricing.

Darryl - 5 Stars
Matthew - 5 Stars
Jacob - 5 Stars

After 1st season:

2.5 Million
1.2 Million
600K +

That is in order, the highest I got for each person.

So Jacob shouldn't be attempted but how does michael compare to the others?

I picked up Jacob in year 4 after my first All-Star appearance. The testing I did in the following contract renewal yielded this (I was making $3.3 million at the time of this negotiation). Obviously my friendship levels are not all the same, so there may be some differences there I haven't accounted for.

* Jacob (1 star) - $3.8 million
* Michael (3 stars) - $4.2 million (if I told him to go back a second time it always went down from there)
* Matthew (5 stars) - $6.0-6.4 million
* Darryl (2 stars) - $5.8-6.6 million

In comparing to my last result posted previously, it seems like Matthew is going have a narrower range between high and low figures, whereas Darryl has a larger spread. I ran through each of them a few times, and those numbers above are either the best they did (Jacob and Michael) or the lowest and highest (Matthew and Darryl). I ended up taking Darryl's negotiation for $6.6 million, which came on the second attempt after the first time he went in he came back with $5.9.

I had Daryl for my last 3 years. Here are the stats from his negotiations:

year 3: 1 Star, 80K fans, All star, HR king, 4 negotiations = $1.7 mil
year 4: 4 Stars, 120K fans, All Star, HR record, 4 negotiations = $2.4 mil
year 5: 5 Stars, 270K fans, NL Triple Crown, HR record, Hank Aaron, MVP, All Star, World Series Win, 4 negotiations = $24.4 mil

Stats definitely have something to do with it but I think fan # is also a major factor. I think if you have more stars, he will work harder for you. In year 3, each negotiation didn't increase much. Only about $5-10K per. With 4 Stars the begining offer was lower than the previous year but each negotiation jumped by about $250-300K. With 5 stars, and the season of course, the offers jumped about $5-8mil per negotiation.

Well, if you have enough fans and get the Star ability, of course you'll get more money. I mean, look at Zito, the freaking Giants spent so much money on him because he did great with the A's. Now, he's the most exspensive pitcher out there, even though he sucks for us now. But the more fans you have in the game, the more money you'll make because the franchise wants people to watch you play and what not.

I signed with Jacob for my 3rd year and had 3 stars with him. He gave me a 1.6 Million contract and the biggest I got from Darryl was 1.2 Million (i only had 2 stars with him). Then again, I only reloaded twice.

So michael and darryl seem consistently to be the best. Jacob is all over the map.

I've tried all the agents, and Darryl is always the best for me.

Probably just has to do with your type of player on which agent to choose.
