corked bats/cues actually make it worse to hit. The lower weight of the bat decreases the force exerted on the ball, making it go slower, and not as far. F=M*A (force = mass * acceleration) i think thats the formula anyway.

Yes, to comfirm, it does boost everything a small about and you can get it from the all-star game the first time you win all-star game mvp. I wouldn't say its worth 5 million, but if your loaded with money I guess it doesn't hurt to get it. If you have 6 million, avoid it, its not worth it.

I have heard this also before that corked bats make you hit with less power, but based on the formula you just posted which is correct Force = mass * acceleration. If your acceleration ratio increased more than your mass ratio decreased, then the force would actually increase.

My monster maker cast broke in practice a few weeks ago :( I had it from my first year all star game MVP, and I used to carry it in my bag and use it to practice on the road and at home, but I guess it brought out the beast in me too much, cause I broke it...

now i remember why i had problems with how Mythbusters did the experiment. They took out the human element of increased speed with a lighter bat. thanks for reminding me SF.

Thanks. it is in the store, but i'm not gonna buy it. It really does not seem worth it.

Monster Maker Cast boosts all of your abilities some (the ones that aren't peaked anyway), but for $5 million it breaks too quickly for my tastes. I bought it once and got it from a WS MVP once, and it only lasted maybe 10-15 uses each time.

As far as chess and billiards players taking drugs - the drug problem in those sports is abusing prescription ADD/ADHD drugs like Adderall, Ritalin, etc. Think about it, both require sustaining high levels of concentration for extended periods of time. Those types of drugs can give you a competitive advantage if you don't have a legit medical need for them.
