The first year of my life mode, my team (white sox) won the world series. The next two years, we didn't even make the playoffs, then my GM did his job. We got D. Ortiz, D. Lee, Jose Reyes, Tim Lincecum, and T. Lilly. The next year we won the world series, and I only hope the GM can keep everyone.

My guy just went into free agency. If you go through the tutorial, it says that you can pick your number, at least I think it did. I sort of sped through it. Did any one else see this.

I'm on my way to check. By simming 6 seasons.

The agent just says there can be various perks, like getting to pick your number. But when I read the text it sounded more like that *might* be something a team offered, but it wasn't a definite. What I didn't like was that in one of my reloads when I did take a free agent offer from the White Sox, I got this stupid conversation from the AAA White Sox coach about how they don't treat free agents special and that I'd have to compete for a job just like everyone else (or something to that effect). Then I found myself riding a bus from Texas to Chicago as I was assigned to the AAA White Sox. This was after completing a 2013 season where I won the AL MVP award for the third consecutive year, the hitter of the year award for the 5th consecutive year, led the league in homers and stolen bases, finished third in batting average, was All-Star game MVP after homering off of Papelbon in the 8th to win it, and single handedly destroyed opposing pitching in the playoffs as I won the World Series MVP for the third time in my career. All I could say was, WTF?

That sounds ridiculous....... With all your awards and you are riding the AAA bus, so is it better not to go to a new team unless it is absolutely necessary?

Yeah AL Mvps get sent to the minors until they prove themselves worthy of a call up.

Same with my guy. I made the mistake of leaving the Astors and signing with the Halos who acquired another 3b in Troy Glaus during the same period. I made the team but I'm platooning at catcher, the same reason I left the Stros in the first place. Thank god for one year contracts.

Does anyone understand the conditions (leading league in HRs and things like that). My current contract is winning the triple crown which isn't an easy task. is there any penalty for not meeting it?

I didn't really understand those contract conditions either. It wasn't clear if you'd get some sort of bonus for reaching that (and if so, how much), or what the situation was.

Yeah, it's odd. Well I'll know what happens when I don't meet those conditions. There's no way I'll take the triple crown this year. My guy has 20 of the 22 HRs hit by the team and only has 27 RBIs after 6 weeks. Nobody is hitting in the line up except my guy. It's going to be a long season.

My team was liked that for my first three seasons. i'm going on my fourth and people are starting to pick it up. Finally.
