I'm into September in my new campaign. I recreated myself with all B's for stats with 225 STR and with just about every ability I could gamble.

I'm currently batting .438 with 47 HR 104 RBI and 39 SB keeping the batting on either normal or lock-on 1. I'm happy that I'm getting more realistic numbers. I'm not happy that the Phillies keep starting me as a catcher. I have 3B main with a 1B sub. I've gotten minor injuries four times throughout the season and didn't get any fan support for the all-star team (but ended up making it by virtue of the coach's vote).

I'm the ful-time starter at first base now. Poor lance berkman gets benched but not Ausmus.

I'm a CF but keep on starting at First. The last 2 games I played Center though. But the lineup says I am at First, so i'm not sure what the manager's thinking.

You guys should consider doing a "player log" for your guys. DarkShade had started one but has been more busy with Success Mode lately. I just started one myself, going back and writing a bunch of stuff for the first 3 years since I'm in year 4 now (playing every game/no simulating). It'd be fun to read about other players developing too :)

yup, i enjoyed reading your log very much. very well written! i would definitely consider trying to do the same; however, it does seem like it can be very time-consuming and time just isnt a luxury that i have right now.

To be honest, yeah it took me a couple of hours to get caught up to where I am in my "career." But I feel like if I do updates roughly as I go instead of trying to do a year or more in a sitting it won't take very long. Part of what took so long in doing the backlog was having to go back through the profile history and all on the game in order to remember when certain things happened.

And you don't necessarily have to do it full-blown journal/diary style. You could do a more abbreviated version that just tracked your basic statistics and accomplishments over your career. That'd only take minutes for an entire year. I think even doing that is helpful because it organizes info about your guy into a single thread, instead of trying to keep up with him interspersed throughout a thread like this :)

I'm on expert difficulty and it's very hard to even get a hit, it just seems harder than '07

I did the same with Lou Gherig and had a .04 batting average. I restarted on easy and had a 700 in triple A. I got called up and after 3 days of pinch hitting started instead of Giambi. I switched once after playing against a righty then stayed after. I don't understand why Giambi was DH, but A-rod was with Ensberg playing third. Anyway, I hit 500+ and virtually always got a hit in the clutch. I now, when I get back home, will restart again with easy so I can change the level at anytime. I will have it at average or expert and eventually powerful.

No, the exhibition games are an easier difficulty level than the regular season. The pitching cursor in exhbition starts in the middle and moves to its final destination before the pitch is throws, but in the regular season it starts in the middle and then briefly flashes in the destination direction.

It took me 3 weeks to make the majors with a new guy... Batting over .600 on expert with stolen bases up the wazoo. Your basic contact slap hitter that should potential go after a career .400

I get called up to the Dodgers and put on pinch hitting duties...

Suddenly I've got "Great Pinch Hitter" ability and Torre will never give me a chance to start.

Waiting for this year to be over... maybe I'll start getting at bats again.
