Is it based off of stats? Or what? Id like to use current players to represent new ones as of 2011

I don't think anyone has ever determined why in-game skills and abilities are what they are, but Eric Davis has an excellent compilation of recommended skills and abilities in various threads, I'll see if I can find the links.
