Post subject: | Calling all Real Players (wii) |
Hello, I am looking to collect all real players created by the forum members here. I've already created a few (Bonds the other day, Pokey Reese today) and want any REALISTIC players you have - as in, don't make a minor-leaguer with all A's, or a retired Roger Clemens with his Cy young year stats. I am interested in any player not already in the 2008 game, but still potentially capable of playing, even at not-great levels (Clemens, Doug Mirabelli, anyone else not given a contract). I am ALSO interested in collecting any prospects that got called up during 2008. However, prospects are harder, in that their stats must be realistic (I don't want a Brett Gardner with A contact, A power, and 47 blue abilities). If you have a password and list of their abilities, post it here or send me a pm and email it to me, and I will be happy to post it. Hopefully if we can collect 30-40 total, it will really help flesh out the rosters for players wanting to do a realistic game and have some good prospects to call up. thanks for your time! |

I know that there are plenty of real players if you look through all of the password exchange pages, esp. several made by Sparkplug15 and some by duke, and some by DrMario. |

Yes, thanks, I have 3 or 4 that I pulled from Sparkplug already. i looked through all 7 pages here and found maybe 4 actual examples with screenshots. DrMario never posted any passwords of his from what I can see. If you can direct me to them, that would be great; I also PM'ed him asking for those as well. He says it will be some time before he can provide them. In addition to mine (Bonds + Reese) for Wii there also was David Price (Rays) http://img155.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 28aot6.jpg Jose Arrendondo (angels) viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1716 Jeff Samardzija (cubs) viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1925&p=28415&hilit=real+life#p28415 Pedro Alvarez (pirates) viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1578 (prolly won't use, abilities too high) A lot of people posted that they created them, but gave no passwords. That is what I am asking for here (as well as any other players I haven't collected/found yet) If anyone wants to work on a player, the list is here and growing: wiki/index.php?title=Real-Life_Rejects Prospects or retired/non-tendered, either is good to add. |

I think I might scrap Mirabelli - with the catchers already on the FA market at the beginning of the game, there's no real reason for me to add him. I think Clemens might be the last FA I add (assuming Dmitri Young is on the Nat's roster), as with his A stamina he could actually be useful. Mirabelli would just go unsigned and then retire (and would be tough to get thru success mode with) I have to look at what they gave Clemens last year. I've also heavily modified my rosters, giving teams' 4th and 5th starters better stamina, correcting some ratings (upping Cliff Lee, lowering Dontrelle Willis, etc), and renaming/re-voicing all the greats. Sure is a lot of work before you can start a realistic season! I'm doing a custom player now, but Clemens will soon follow. |

7-8 Contact is good. Power's kinda high, considering his rookie status. I would use stats in the game for guys like Ellsbury as an indicator. I would leave power definitely C - he only his 17 homers in the minors in '07, and only hit 12 in 92 games last year. That equates to about 21 over a full season...hmm. Okay, maybe C works. Even high C. What do players that hit 21 homers have for power in this game? Maybe you're right on the power. Is the fielding that good? I can only find records of 2 assists... |

stevenjackson39 wrote: shoot just found that chee made [Joyce]... 1. As a matter of fact chee did not make him. chee entered a password from the password exchange. 2. It's for PS2. Why not make him for Wii? ![]() |

Trot Nixon, that's a great idea. Him and Clemens, those are two guys I'd like to make. I'll get on that after I finish up my latest character. Between Clemens and Reese and Bonds and Nixon, and all the FAs at the beginning of the game, you could probably make a pretty decent mish/mash of a team to play with. That'd be fun... RF Nixon SS Reese LF Bonds 1B Eldred CF Kenny Lofton C Doug Mirabelli 2B Mark Bellhorn 3B Tony Batista -Bench- IF Royce Clayton 1B Erubiel Durazo 3B Shea hillenbrand SP Clemens SP Bartolo Colon SP Freddy Garcia SP Bruce Chen SP Casey Fossum CL Armando Benitez RP Hector Carrasco RP Ramiro Mendoza etc etc this is looking better and better..! |
