I finished my new guy, though.
can't exactly remember everything about him, but he turned out pretty good.
check the first link (third line, the one for photobucket) and you should find my new guy, takahiro arai (third baseman for the hanshin tigers, by the way. changed his age and stance though, as well as stats (duh)

So did you ever get the catcher you wanted?
I just got done making one for myself and could work on one for you if you have just been getting jerked around.
For my catcher I didn't know what I wanted to focus on more... the special abilities like "Clutch Hit, Grt IF HTR, and Spray Hitter," or the TRJ, CON, PWR abilities. I typically get stuck on the special abilities since they can be harder if not impossible to obtain while in life mode.
I think I have a general idea on how to make pretty good players.
My Cathers Stats by the end of Success Mode. He is decent and could have been better but decided not to play the final week where you get to play against Sittch.

I made a Lou Gehrig trying to focus more on PWR but I still tried to get special abilities for him... If I just worked on regular abilities he probably would have been an A for CON and an A for FLD with a 4 TRJ.
