That's if you're just looking at last season, I used his career BA. But 13 seems too high, even without the blues. I'm not even sure 12 is a good fit. I think that 11 at the highest (with blues) is a good fit

i would actually look at splits first for BA...career he's .287 versus righties, or a 9. He hits lefties around .347, so that's where you need Vs Lefty 4 or even 5 maybe.

I know I undershoot, so I can definitely support a contact of 10 (even with some blues). But 11 with blues is too much for me.

Altuve last year: 225 Hits, .341 BA, 56 SB
If you are making him accurate as of right now, he should have 13-14 contact. 12-13 Speed.

right, but he only hit .319 off righties. 63 of those hits were off lefties, as he crushed them at a .414 clip. So giving him Vs Lefty 5 accounts for that entirely.

At that point, again just looking at last season, Altuve's highest allowable contact is 11, to account for a .319 average against them. Once you throw in a few blues, it's better off being 10.

I look at splits all the time before assigning contact now - just because someone mashes lefties doesn't mean they are the best hitter all around.

I also have a good batting stance for him, I'll be on Power Pros in ten minutes and I'll check for you but it is one of the last Open stances, second to last I think. I used it for my Jedd Gyorko.

This last season was an abnormality, it was pure luck. Only reason he hit as high as he did was an impossibly high and unsustainable BABIP. His true talent batting average is about .295. This would be 9 with blues and Vs. Lefty 4.
