The man, the myth, the legend.... Here's what I got: CF as primary and LF as secondary. (not certain if LF is necessary) Trajectory 3 Contact 11 Power 175-190 (maybe 185?) Speed 13 Arm Strength 7-8 Fielding 11-12 Error Resistance 13-14 Hot Hitter Firstball Hitter - 31 for 90 (.341) from 2012-2014 Good Infield Hitter Table Setter - .310 career BA without men on Clutch 4 - .314 career BA W/RISP Stealing 4 Base Running 4 Contact Hitter or Power Hitter or neither??? I'm more for Contact Hitter I don't see a hit pattern with him - http://www.fangraphs.com/spraycharts.aspx?playerid=10155&position=OF&type=battedball&pid2=10155&ss1=2014&se1=2014&ss2=2014&se2=2014&cht1=hittype&cht2=battedball&vs1=ALL&vs2=ALL Steal attempts continued to drop after his rookie season, so I'm not 100% if Aggressive Stealer is needed I don't think he should have intimidator because he's not like Stanton and stands at 6'6" 240 LBS, and can disintegrate the ball Feedback is appreciated!!! |

His strikeout rate has fluctuated in each of his 3 full seasons in the bigs, went from 25% to 23% and jumped to 30% last year. You think that might qualify him for Timely Whiff? |

played 124 games in LF and 17 in RF, so if you have him practically finished then go for it. |

I think you're using At Bats rather than Plate appearances, I think it's calculated by: Strikeouts/Plate appearances His K% went from: 2011 -> 22.2% 2012 -> 21.8% 2013 -> 19.0% 2014 -> 26.1% I usually give Timely Whiff to players with a K% of 25% or more. His fluctuation doesn't seem to warrant it for me. But that's just my opinion |

We might have to agree on what constitutes firstball hitter, clutch, and table setter (and all abilities like that). We should spend time doing that. When editing the Philthies yesterday, I was going to take firstball hitter away from Ryan Howard because I couldn't find the B-R splits section to back it up. Then I found it - the dude hits .379 on the first pitch. That's like 100 points better than his career BA against righties (and .160 over his lefties line), so I was convinced. On Clutch and Table Setter - Trout has a career .305 batting average. That's just over the line to a contact of 11, which you are planning on giving him - seems fine to me. But the clutch/table setter BA is all within 10 points of his career average...and both still within the contact of 11 range (.305-.319). So I would nix both of those - or nerf contact to 9 or something to compensate. I'd leave Trout's contact at 9 until the very end just in case I got too many blues anyway, but that's me allowing for my own messups ![]() For first pitch - I think, because players will swing at the first pitch in certain beneficial-to-batting-average situations (tiring pitcher, guessing right on the pitch, hit and run, etc) that nearly everyone will have a higher BA on first pitch than their career line. Just randomly poking around, Jason Varitek hits the first pitch over 100 points better, Shane Victorino hits the first pitch 70 points better, Yuniesky Betancourt is 32 points better. Betancourt is a crummy hitter, right? Remember that the B-R first pitch stats are just on first pitches that were swung on and ended the at-bat. So that means swing-and-miss doesn't even factor in. I would stipulate that we need a certain large spread between career BA and first pitch BA before awarding firstball hitter - whatever we can agree on after looking at enough sample data. I'd say a minimum of .069 points, maybe more like .100 though. A swing of just .036 like Trout's doesn't seem worthy of the ability to me. And believe me, I think Trout is the best player in the game, so if there were room to teeter I would teeter towards giving him more, not less. ![]() I think Trout should get Contact Hitter, fwiw. |

I actually like that idea for the spread to warrant Firstball Hitter. And I'll just get rid of Table Setter and nerf contact down to a 10. And add Contact Hitter to his repertoire |

Here's the final: CF/LF Trajectory 3 Contact 10 Power 175-190 Speed 13 Arm Strength 7-8 Fielding 11-12 Error Resistance 13-14 Clutch 4 Contact Hitter Hot Hitter Good Infield Hitter Stealing 4 Base Running 4 And I guess I could get Star if I'm not doing any of the other arcs. |

Couldn't get Star because I couldn't get Emily to show up at the park. I visited the park about 5 or 6 times in attempt for her to activate, BUT nothing happened. He has all the abilities I listed and I acquired Throwing 4, and Consistency 4 as well.
