Got my info from fangraphs and baseball reference and I was looking over the last 3 seasons: It looks like he hit 97 in 2014 but hit 99 in 2012 and 98 in 2013. 97-98 MPH top speed Control 140-150 Stamina 150-155 Slider 3-4 Curveball 2-3 Changeup 2-3 He barely throws a 2 Seam Fastball, I don't know if we should give it to him W/RISP 4 - Yes, strand rate for each of the last 3 seasons was higher than 74% (72% is the threshold) Poise 4 Fastball Life 4 - More towards yes, batters have a .232 BA against it (last 3 seasons) Dr.K - You betcha, lowest K/9 in last 3 seasons was 10.1 Recovery 4 - as always Not certain about Spin 4 Don't know how to find steal success rate but I think don't think he needs Release 4 Lefties seem to hit slightly better so I don't think he needs VS Lefty 4 Groundball Pitcher - No |

He hit 98.0 mph in 2014, so I would give him 98 MPH top speed, though you could go up to 99. Control range looks perfect, I have him as a C as well. I would lower the stamina a bit though, while he does average around 6-7 innings per start, he rarely throws complete games (only 1 in his entire pro career). I agree with all of the breaking balls, and I would only give him the 2SFB if you have the points leftover at the end Agreed on all five blue abilities. Wouldn't give him Spin 4, Release 4 or VS LH Batter 4. Groundball P is a no as well. |

so my old stats were: Quote: R/R #37 DOB: 7/27/84 Goal: 98-99mph top speed Ctrl: 138 Stam: low C? CHG 3 SLD 2-3 2SFB 1-2 CUT, if points allow Fastball Life But Scherzer has since established himself waaay more as a starter, including betting on himself this offseason - a big gamble when he turned down the Tigers' $150mil+ offer. Anyone see guys like Chipper Jones beating him up on twitter for that? Today I would go with: top speed: 98-99mph top speed - definitely hit 98 last season, hit 99 the year before Ctrl: 150 Stam: 148-152 (1 CG in his career) pitch types: CHG 3 SLD 2-3 (his only non-FB pitch with positive value, btw) CB 2 (not much movement, still - developed out of necessity) 2SFB 1 (okay this has positive value, but its 0.30, c'mon) CUT 1, if points allow - hasn't thrown it in a long time None of Scherzer's pitchers are particularly huge in the movement category, so it must be about deception and heat. specials: Fastball Life 4 (his fastball is his best pitch, his most common pitch...his bread and butter) Dr K - he's been over 10 K/9IP the past few seasons, 9.59 K/9 IP for his career, that works for me. Or Intimidator! Flyball P? not attainable anyway so nvm. same with power pitcher, heh Release 4 - 40% career CS rate I'd be okay with him getting one or two of Poise 4, Battler, or Good Low Pitch to reflect his awesomeness Durability 4 is up in the air - just one injury his rookie season, history of tendinitis though...versus 6 seasons of 30+ starts. I'd say no. No Vs Lefty 4- lefties hit him better No RISP/4 - he's always a few points above avg, but average fluctuates year to year...being 2 or 3% over it is borderline for me Overall high top spd, a few blues for deception, and Dr K to seal the deal as a fireball power pitcher. |

I'll probably use blue eyes haha; and now that he has signed with the Nationals, I will be starting him after I finish Andrelton Simmons |

They could at most be a Wild-Card team dish, but they could win the division if they could beat the Nats. It used to be the Braves we couldn't beat, but we beat them a lot last season |

Mets were projected for 3rd place in the NL East before the Scherzer deal...Miami is looking decent this year after all. Nats were already a virtual lock for 1st unless they traded Desmond/Fister/Stras, now they're a WS favorite. I think the Mets are easily better than PHI/ATL next season, and heck it would be possible to fight for a wild card if Miami stinks it up and NYM pitching keeps them in the 87+ win range. Not probable, but possible. |

Even though it took me two attempts to make him (screwed up on the first try) I still had fun making him. I also gave him Lucky and Battler. Here you go!
