I'll be making this guy next for AOW. He's been in the Majors since 2009 and can be edited in, but AOW wants him made for his project so I'll be taking him up. I might make Lucas Duda for him next...
Here's what robhallett had, in 2011:
Fastball 93
Control 153
Stamina 59

H-slider 5
H-Sinker 2
CHG 1

W/RISP 4
Gd low pitch
STR Finisher
Dr K
Gd delivery
Consistency 4

This is good to follow, but he has since struggled with runners in scoring postiiton, so I'll make that W/RISP 2. His top speed has decreased since 2011 as well. The highest he hit last year was 89 MPH. That will be what I'm going for. His strikeout rate has dramatically decreased as well over the years, he now averages 7.3 per nine innings in ’14 compared to 11.2 per nine as a rookie, so no Dr. K. But he’s also exhibited much better control: his rate of 1.9 walks per nine in ’14 was the best of his career, down from 3.7 as a rookie. So control should be pretty good. Anything else to add, AOW and others?

He hit 90.6 last year, give him 91 MPH top speed
Control - C
Stamina - E

SLD 3/4
SIFB 3/4
CHG 2/3

82.3% strand rate last year is hardly "struggling", 87.1% in 2012 is ridiculous. Definitely should have w/RISP 4.
Recovery 4, because always
GD Low Pitch, sure
Dr. K, definitely not
Consistency 4, yes
STR Finisher, sure

yeah I would aim for

RP (not closer)
top speed: 90-92 (pitch F/X has him hitting 90 last season, and he averaged 88.4mph on his fastball as well, so you have to go 91-92 probably)
ctrl: 150
stam: 45-50

Pitches in order of use:
SLD 3 (his #1 pitch - about half the movement of Sergio Romo's tho. H-SLD would be OK)
SIFB 1-2 - its too fast for a SNK or H-SNK, and too sideways for a 2SFB. Small movement tho.
CHG 1 looks good
He's got a CUT with tiny movement...but it sinks into negative horizontally...becomes like a H-SNK or that oddball Shuuto. Maybe H-SNK 1?
CB 1 (rare and minimal movement)

Blues:
AVOID Vs Lefty 4, lefties smack him around a bit (yes that means beaning/walking all lefties in AAA - can't let 9 or 10 get out)
Good Low Pitch, Good Delivery, and/or Spin 4 - all are OK by me, his slider confuses people
Recovery 4 of course
RISP/4 would be fine to support that low ERA
Consistency 4 would be OK by me as well
I wouldn't do STR Finisher with just 19 saves, but thats me.

Reds:
Release 2 - seems to allow the SB a lot for a reliever
Unlucky would be great - 22-27 record despite a 2.75 career ERA!

Greens:
Breaking Ball P, don't think it's gettable tho - he's the rare type that doesn't throw FB as his main pitch

holy crap he was a Cardinal in 2008! I thought he was a Padre, but that was a 2009 trade! Urgh, man those Cards have serious pitching development.

So to clarify:
91 top speed
Control: 150-155
Stam: 45-50
Pitches:
H-SLD 3
SIFB 2
CHG 1
CB 1
H-SNK 1 (Maybe)
Blues/Reds
Spin 4
Recovery 4
Consistency 4
Gd Low Pitch (Maybe)
Release 2
Unlucky (Better not catch any fish)

One thing, AOW, do you want him on the Cardinals or Padres?

doesn't matter to me. He debut'd with the padres, but by '08 rosters he'd be on the cardinals pre-trade, so i guess cards - that's where I'll place him.

The H-SNK can also be a Shuuto pitch - that weird opposite-side cutter. That might fit better actually. Weird movement. dillon gee has the same thing now that I compare them.

If release 2 and unlucky (plus Vs Lefty 4 avoidance) is too tough, maybe he is a good guy to just edit in. Chris Perez, Phil Coke and Grant Balfour are both old enough to just be thrown in too...maybe we can save our success mode work for the younger guys like Ivan Nova. :)

Yeah, if you did want those abilities and Breaking Ball P, you could just edit him in, that's what I would do. Well, if we're not doing Gregerson anymore, need anyone else for the project?

Brett Cecil? There's a guy that you can get Vs Lefty 4 and its fine.
Ivan Nova?
James McDonald? another guy that vsLefty 4 is fine for. I even have a thread for him already.
Vin Mazzaro too

Those 4 are just about all the age 19-21 guys for '08 that I see remaining

sounds good man, tear it up!

I like seeing the end in sight. If I edit in 5 or 6 older pitchers, and finish Arencibia, then I'm like 10 guys away from having it done! :)

that's what I was trying to tell you, AOW. you would have saved a lotta time just editing in guys that you need. example here - Mazzaro/Cecil are quick edits of Cueto, McDonald as one of the Dodger "greats", Nova is one year off Cueto, Arencibia/Duda can be changed from Butler.

Yeah I know, I edited in Colby Lewis and Ryan Vogelsong way back rather than do them, given their age and experience. I figured Balfour was another good case for that with his age. But a lot of guys who were 22 and under in 2008 had to be made.

For the rest, it was a fun challenge. I was going to play the game for 5 years making guys anyhoo...I'd rather have made real life guys that others could just pop in via password, instead of figuring out delivery and abilities and appearance one by one. Especially the guys that were tough to make, or had negative abilities, or fielders that could pitch. :) Honestly even if I edited in all remaining 2008-2010 relevant guys, I'd probably make a success version too, just for the sake of completing it.

And I still don't see a Great that would be McDonald on the MLBPP 2008 dodgers...I edited all the Greats into the players they should be waaay back in '09. Based on this thread: http://www.mlbppworld.com/viewtopic.php?p=9634#p9634

that's fair. while doing roster updates (mostly via edit) I had to stretch a year or two on DOB, so I can understand wanting to make guys whose ages are on the fence. for my selfish purposes, there's plenty of guys to be made in Success post-2010.

McDonald you can edit in from "Great Olivo", you had Greg Miller (1984) but he lasted a year with the Dodgers.
