ive seen multiple Tanakas made, but they aren't the best we can make (im not calling anyone out because i made one myself and it was not good.)

so basically what i got is...

Top Speed: 96-97
Stamina: 155
Control: 150+

Splitter: 4-5
Sinker: 2-3
Curveball: 1-2
Slider: 2-3

W/RISP 4
Poise 4
Spin 4
Recovery 4
Dr. K

Top Speed: 97
Control: 150 at BARE MINIMUM. Try to go for 155 though (his BB/9 was 1.4, same as Kershaw. 200 control is basically impossible)
Stamina: 152-157

Slider 2-3
Curveball 1-2
Splitter 4-5
Sinker 2-3

W/RISP 4 (79.1% strand rate)
Poise 4
Spin 4 (I think it works, his breaking balls have really good movement)
Recovery 4
Dr. K (K/9 was 9.3, seems good to me, not the end of the world if you don't get it)
His Righty/Lefty splits are just about even. Wouldn't matter to me if you get VS Lefty 4

He barely threw a Cutter (6 times), Changeup (12 times), and a 2-Seam Fastball (2 times) in 2014, so we can throw those away

Durability 2? That long injury killed the Yankees last season...

Well it was only one season, and it was 1 injury. Doesn't necessarily mean he's injury prone

If the Yankees are desperate like last season and use him too much, then bring him back for meaningless September games for no reason, then he may have a serious problem...

My take
96 mph, 190 control, 155 stam, H-SLD 4, SPLT 4, SiFB 5, CRV 1
Durability 2( he missed a third of the season)
RiSP 4,
If he qualifies for DrK, then he also qualifies for Fat Pitch.
I thought DrK was for 10+ Ks per 9inn.
And am I off in regards to control? From the formula I read it should be a max 190 for a BB/9 rate of 2.0 or fewer.

Same guy who threw 12 innings in one high school game, then threw
another 7 innings THE NEXT DAY!
So, how many pitches does he have left in that arm?

Japanese pitchers are known for their stamina and rarely get injured, some have been known to throw 300 pitch bullpens!

Dice-K threw 200 innings his rookie year, at age 26, and never again, only cracking 150 innings twice.
He basically was Tanaka: really good young ace who left Japan at age 25,
Had a great start, and then the workload began to show.
I feel like such a troll on these boards.
But it's hilarious how important getting the correct birthday is, but with the basic ratings and extra abilities that actually effect the simulation, some guys are like, "meh, just give it to him"
I would say that ANY pitcher who has had TJ surgery should get Durability 2.
Also, any player who ends the year on the DL after missing two months should be an injury risk until proven healthy. ESPECIALLY a pitcher who appears to have elbow problems.

Dice-K was never the same since he came over from Japan, he's back there now and finished his MLB career with the Mets. When that happens, you know your career's down the drain!

How about just leaving the Durability rating alone?
