Post subject:  SP Travis Wood (Reds/Cubs) (Wii)
With 731+ innings logged since his debut in July 2010, Travis Wood has logged the most innings of my remaining 2008-2010 rookie list. I've avoided him since he is a lefty, so Vs Lefty 4 is a non-issue - but no one has taken him up, and he is one of my last 20 pitcher targets.

Let's start with robhallet's version a few years back:

If I were making him from scratch from Baseball-reference and fan graphs i'd have:
Top Spd: 94 (FB averages 89.2, top he's ever hit is 94.4)
Ctrl: 120-130 (3.2 BB/9)
Stam: 140-148 (averages right around 6 IP per start)
CUT 2-3
CHG 2-3
2SFB 1
SLD 1
CB 2-3 (averages 73mph and has hit as low as 66mph, so SCB is a possibility if needed)
SIFB 1-2 (he only threw this for 2010, so its optional)

Blues:
Vs Lefty 4 (he's murdered them)
Not sure he even qualifies for Recovery 4, he's only hit 200 IP once?
Release 4 makes sense - CS is 32%, and steals have been low

Reds:
Flyball P would be great (33% GB rate, not sure where GB pitcher came from?)
Unlucky
Spin 2 would be fine with me

Hitting abilities:
CON 3 (.192 avg)
PWR 120-135 (HR% 3.5%, ISO .155)
SPD 7-8 (yes thats a steal! never caught)


If someone else wants to do him let me know, otherwise I'll do him during my 2 days off. :)

I'll make him, been wanting to do someone for a while :)

From what I'm seeing, I'd put him at 94mph, E/D control, low B stamina,

2SFB 1/2 - has good enough movement to be a 2, if I have enough points
SLD 1, SCB 1 - needs to have them, but they aren't really good at all, though the SL has a 32.3% K rate, wow
(CHG/CCHG/SNK) 3 - Moves horizontally enough to be classified as a SNK, or a CCHG. H-SNK could also be a possibility.
SPLT 2 - No cutter has a 41% groundball rate, and the movement seems to indicate that it's a splitter.

VS LH Batter 4. Recovery 4 (I give it to all pitchers no matter what, unless they've shown serious fatigue problems in the past). Release 4. Flyball P if I can figure out how to get that.

Batting-wise: 2 TRJ, G/F CON, E PWR, E/D SPD (he has 3 career steals, 2 in AAA, 1 in MLB, 0 CS), fielding-wise he's been inconsistent, 2010 he was awful (.769 FLD%!!!), but only 3 errors in 112 chances since then (.973 FLD%). Maybe I'll just leave those wherever they start off at.
