I would say contact is one too high - both his BA last season (.272) and his career mark (.271) point to an 8 on the scale you posted here - altho as I'll note, just hitting righties he does better (.277) Speed always scares me - 8 for 13 lifetime in MLB steals, just 5 SBs last season...biggest number of steals in a full minor league season is 20, which could be 11 speed I guess. MLB steal success rate is 61%, if you include all minors just 74%, so definitely no stealing 4, maybe consider stealing 2...tough to tell after a season and a half I guess. Why didn't he run more last year?? Power looks fine, I just cooked up a 134 power for Desmond now that he has 20-HR years, and Calhoun has one of those in the minors and now a 17-HR year, thats in 127 games so he can probably do 25 in a full season. He has normal splits for a lefty - most of his homers against righties, hits them 20 points better or so...Vs Lefty 2 would be nice but probably impossible lol. If you got that, then 9 contact would work since he hits righties at about that clip. Thats my $0.02 |
