Adam Gilchrist is a real player but played cricket which in sporting circles is seen as a distant cousin of baseball. Alot of cricket players recently have tried out with various baseball teams such as Brett Lee (thrower or bowler who can bowl a ball 161km/hr or 100mph think of Micah Owings without a breaking ball, but with a slightly better bat) he tried out with the diamondbacks in 2003 in secret. He was an Australian cricket player of whom had a great eye and power in his bat think of Bryce Harper only a bit older but better contact and speed. In 2005 at the age off 33 he was offered a chance to trial with the redsox, unfortunately he declined as he was nearing retirement at the time. I've given the link to a youtube video of him batting, if you see the video you'll see his power, his not built like a power hitter, but I guarantee he was very entertaining to watch. Here he is Adam Gilchrist D.O.B. 14th Nov 1987 (I made him 20 so he would be useable) L/R #14 Redsox 2B/C/LF In cricket he played wicketkeeper (like a catcher) only his arm wasn't that strong. In cricket a wicket keeper is just meant to receive the ball, catch and support the thrower. Thus in my opinion LF or 2B would have been the likely positions. Trj 3 Contact 10 Power 200 Run speed 12 Arm 7 Fielding 6 E-res 6 Clutch hit 4 Power hitter Spray hitter Gd bunt Gd IF Hitter Hot hitter Table setter Walk-off hitter Gd pinch hitter Refined Intimidator Throwing 4 Consistency 4 Barehand catch Star Patient Hitter Sparkplug Agg Run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVBQGvo7jCY (the youtube video) Attachment: Adam Gilchrist.JPG [ 54.45 KiB | Viewed 2905 times ] Hope all enjoy |

Great going! I actually played a little bit of cricket for the first time on Wednesday, I was better then I thought I would be at batting, hitting two homeruns (well, the equivalent to homeruns) It was much more fun then I had thought it would be. |

Yes the 2 sports are great but cricket is more where you try to bat as long as you can a swing and miss does not go against the batsman. As a fielder you don't have gloves except for the wicket keeper and the ball must bounce before the batsman. I believe the ball is slightly heavier than a baseball, and the bats are made from English willow. But yeah Adam Gilchrist is perhaps regarded as a once in a generation player his power and good eye is second to none, in addition he was well admired as a good sportsman throughout the world he would never dispute a call by the umpire and he would also even walk even if the umpire didn't think he was out. Some regarded him as stupid since other players would wait for the umpire to call it out. |

Its actually a really fun game if you try it. We watched a whole movie about cricket when we were studying India in History class, and it made it look awesome. We had a British Gym teacher in Elementary school, so he taught us Cricket for a couple of months in 4th grade. It was modified, but it was still fun. |

We only play incredibly stupid games in 4th grade gym... |
