Post subject:  Pokey Reese SS (real player)
Pokey Reese is a gold-glove winning shortstop, one of the defensive stars or the last decade. However, he has had trouble staying on a major league roster, due to personal issues and a poor bat. Red Sox fans will never forget his help during the 2004 World Series run, including an inside-the-park home run. Sadly, he was not on a major league roster for 2008.

I created Pokey as a gold-glove caliber SS, with 2B as a second position. He has excellent speed and a great throwing arm. However, his contact is extremely poor, and his power is less than decent (although he did hit 44 homers over his career).

I will add him to the wiki as a real-life player; hopefully a team will pick him up as a free agent.

You got him exactly, nice job

He'll fit nicely to the 2004 red sox team I made, I edited players to make Bellhorn, Mueller and others to the team, and I put players like Damon(with his beard), O-Cab and Kapler to the team too

I know that this would be unrealistic, but I wish he was 19 so that he could be a big time prospect. :mrgreen:

Thanks, glad he is a good fit.

Bellhorn would be interesting - is he on the rosters or MLBPP 2008? If not, i'd like to see your posted version - maybe we can add him to the minor league/unsigned collection of real life players (like Pokey!)

Kapler is on the Brewers roster, right? So no need for him or O-Cab, and Mueller's knees gave out long ago.

Hmm maybe I should make a Bellhorn, I just edited Cora and made him bellhorn, and I made lowell into Mueller.

Heres my roster pretty much, Im not sure if I still have the team though but I can still make it:

C-Varitek
1B- Millar(great johnson)
2B- Bellhorn
SS- Cabrera
3B- Mueller
LF- Manny
CF- Damon
RF- Nixon(I'll just edit him from some free agent like brady clark)

I need help on the last 2 bench spots, who should I put:
Roberts, Youkilis, McCarty(edited from Cora), or Mientkiewicz
I'm leaning towards Youk and McCarty cause Youkilis can play third(ill have to edit him) and because McCarty was also on the team at the beginning at the year

Do McCarty, he would be fun as a lefty 1B/RF/Pitcher.

remember, he came in in relief a few times and was good. Strikeouts.

I love Pokey!
the only other HR he had in 2004 was in the same game as his ITPHR.
