Post subject:  Barry Bonds
I recently did a Barry Bonds. Was wondering if it was worth posting. He has intimidator ability. However consequently toward the end of season 2 I got a Dr Goodjob and selected increase strength. I hadn't had one before, and it was successful. The problem then became that he got max power and running speed and fielding a bit better than I had originally set out to do. But if there are those who would like me to post him then I will.

I could make a Barry Bonds...but I would want his skill set and ratings to be realistic...for his age and all. What would Barry Bonds be? At this point?

Contact - high side of D? Maybe low or mid D.
Power - A, still high but not way up. I'm thinking 160-170 range.
Arm...what was his arm? D?
Speed, Fielding, E Res - all Fs

Abilities - tough out, power hitter, maybe intimidator. Age 44, 22 years MLB service.

Yeah, Barry Bonds was in the 40-40 club in '96 (Pre-roids)

Barry also is the only person in the 400-400 club and the 500-500 club.

762 homers. 514 Stolen Bases.

My 2008 version of bonds is coming along OK - just made it to AAA and hit my first homer.

LF, lefty
Contact - E (7)
Power - B (152)
everything else - 4-5 (Fs)

Power Hitter, Tough Out, Hot Hitter

If I get Intimidator and get the power to A, this one should be all done. But I havent dated Patty at all yet, so Intimidator is pretty much out the window.

Next realistic players I am thinking of doing:
Pokey Reese - E contact, E power, high C speed, B fielding, B error resistance SS, 2B and 2nd position
Roger Clemens - i need pitches and ratings. Intimidator is probably gone by now, he's too old. :)
Kenny Lofton? E contact, E power, low B speed, D fielding, CF, 2nd position of LF/RF
Doug Mirabelli? G contact, C power, G speed, D-E fielding, D arm, good catcher ability
Clayton Kershaw (LAD)

any other free agents or minor leaguers not in the 2008 game that should be made?

Roger Clemens, you want to do his toranto era? It was his best.He could have 97mph, lvl 2 2SFB, lvl 4 CUT, lvl 4 CB, lvl 5 SPLT, lvl 2 H-SNK. FB/Life, Spin, Dr K, Intimidator. Oh, A Stamina, B Control.

No, not any past version - just what he would be as a 46-year-old at the beginning of 2008, if he would have played.

I'm trying to compile all the real-life players that aren't in the game (colon, bonds, reese, mirabelli) and combine them with the FA pool to make a killer arrange team...then make that team and my custom arrange team both expansion teams, and play the game in season mode.

Or, alternately, just leave Bonds/Clemens/Reese etc as free agents in the pool and play the 2008 season, see what happens.
