Alloutwar: How's the progress with Van Hekken?

Anyways, another game:

Newscasters 2-Chargers 3

Lineup for Newscasters (Can't remember all stats)
----------------------
1-Joe Lafurgey 2B
2-George Lessens SS
3-Jared Werksma LF
4-Tom Van Howe 1B (C CON, E PWR, G RUN SPD)
5-Ranji Sinha RF
6-Ron Boyd CF
7-Tim Ragones 3B
8-Andy Pepper C
9-Ed Kengerski P

Summary: It was a tense battle right to the very end. In the bottom of the 8th, Dante Warner hit a long bomb to right field to take the lead 2-1. In the top of the 9th, however, Pedro Vermilyea gave up a solo shot to George Lessens to make it 2-2, getting out of the inning with a strikeout with the bases loaded. The bottom of the 9th lasted only 1 pitch, as Nick James hit a HR into Left-Center to win the game in a walkoff, 3-2.

thanks man - glad to see my team has won what, 2 now? Excellent. the CG from Sakata is interesting.

I got stuck with Van Hekken, don't know what pitches to give him or what to do. and I'm about to head to florida, and then south America, so I'll be gone for a little over a month. Not much MLBPP time for me!

So, are you back from vacation yet? How's Van Hekken doing?

NEW GAME!

Chargers vs. Students

Lineup for Students:
1: Phil Milowe (Philly Phil) 2B
2: Katie Kulwicki CF
3: Dishnetkid RF
4: Courtney Prough 1B
5: Ashley Miller 3B
6: Shada Thompson LF
7: Dean Nichols C
8: Kelsey Tomlinson SS
9: Joey Paavola P

Score:
Chargers 1, Students 0

Review:
The Chargers needed only 1 run to settle things in their first ever meeting with the Students at a domed Minute Maid Park. That run came in the top of the 1st inning, when leadoff man Dante Warner settled in on a Joey Paavola Slow Curve and bombed it to right-center. Scott Trzesniak did the rest, going 6.2 innings, allowing no runs, and Marty Stone giving up no runs, either. Pedro Vermilyea got the save, fanning PH Alex Cottingham to end the game.

DishNetKid - thanks man, glad to see my team winning a game against Someone!

FYI - I have finally completed reliever Brad Van Hekken (wiki/index.php?title=Brad_Van_Hekken), although he was sitting untouched on my Wii for about 6 months. Scary that I can go this long without finishing a lpayer! But anyway, my bullpen/AAA ranks are now even deeper.

At this point I will move onto a few more low-level, AAA-type players, mainly fielders, maybe 1 or 2 more pitchers. At this point I have enough arms for a full season or two, easily, even with an injury or so.

Additionally, I urge anyone still on these boards to contribute to the real-life players project (see signature link below) so that we can keep rosters updated, and keep the game interesting since we have no MLBPP 2009 here in the US.
