Does anybody have tips for getting a good player in the draft? Or is it just luck? |

It's pretty much just luck. I try to go for younger players with high stars—you can usually end up with a good pitcher even if you have a late pick. |

Thats too bad, but I did pretty well considering I was the 19th pick. |

I save and reload a lot in my drafts to get a good player. If I'm picking early (usually just my 1st year), I focus on players with good defense/arm. I'm usually going for a SS, C, or 3b, but even if my plan is to convert them to another position later, I want defense and a little bit of power. I find defense the most difficult/time consuming aspect to train up (other than trajectory). Contact is the easiest to improve while playing the game. With pitchers, I look at stamina and top speed mostly. I find stamina takes the longest to improve, and I really cannot pitch successfully with a pitcher whose top speed is below 90. Control does not seem to matter to me too much. Stars do make a difference. I have a 2 star pitcher who takes a lot longer to improve. |
