November 23, 2002 Ring Ring "Hello?" "Hey Jack is this you?" "Yeah, so..... did I get the job?" "Yes. Congratulations on being the new coach for the Louisiana State University Tigers!" June 26, 2004 "Woohoo! Yeeeeaaaahhh!!!!" "Coach, congratulations on back-to-back national titles." "Thank you very much." "How did you guys secure this championship?" "Man, we just used our topnotch pitching to shut them down in the 3 game set." "How do you feel about your team heading into next season?" "We should be good with a lot of our guys coming back, but time will tell." December 14, 2004 Dear Jack Richardson, Hello, this is Hank Steinbrenner, a co-owner of the New York Yankees. We will be hiring a new GM in a few weeks and we believe it will be you. You have shown that you can be a champion right from the beginning and that is what we like here in the Bronx. December 23, 2004 "Today I am here to announce I will be leaving LSU to take on a job in the MLB as a GM. I have been told I will more than likely get a job very soon." January 3rd, 2005 The Yankees have signed a GM and it wasn't Jack Richardson. February 20, 2005 Jack Richardson does not receive a GM spot like he said. Now he isn't a GM or coach anywhere. |

December 12, 2007 BREAKING NEWS: The MLB will be adding 2 new clubs to make 16 teams in each league. The Astros will move to the AL West and 1 expansion team will be in the AL and one will be in the NL. Both expansion teams are rumored to play in the AL East and NL East. January 5, 2008 Ring Ring..... This was weird. The phone never rings anymore. Nobody has taken me seriously since I last won that title with LSU. Now nobody cares that I can be a GM in the MLB even with my accomplishments. I finally got off my couch and checked the number. I was surprised to see it was a number I didn't know. "Hello?" "Hey Jack, what's up?" "Nothing...." "Do you know the MLB is adding 2 expansion teams to the league?" "Obviously cause all I do now is sit and watch MLB Network. And by the way who are you?" "I'm the new owner of the Louisville Lions." "What team is that?" "One of the new expansion teams." "So why are you calling?" "I want you to be my team's first GM." This year will now start a new era in the MLB............... |

Ahhhhh, the sweet smell of the new office building of the Louisville Lions smelled of coffee. "Mister Richardson, your office is down the hall and 4 doors to the right." "Thank you." I walked down to my office which had a 2 desks, 2 computers (3 if you count the laptop I brought), a coffee machine, a dry erase board and a 50 inch flat screen TV. I sat down in my new spiny chair and started looking through the files. I saw the players that we were looking at for our team and our new coaching staff. Since we are a new team we were allowed to take 20 prospects from any teams we chose and the rest of our 40 man roster will be free agents. A moment later a few men came into my office. "Hello", one of them said. "Hey, who are you?", I asked. "I am Sam Pound, the teams pitching coach said a large white man." "My name is Kevin Johnson and I'm our teams hitting coach." "The names Pat Pete. I'm the field manager." "So I'm guessing you guys are here so we can talk about the players we would like to have on our team?" "Yes that is correct.", said Sam Pound. "Okay, I was looking through some of the reports and some guys that caught my eye were Zac Mercer, Kale Danish and Demetrius Jones." "I believe Mercer can be a great asset to our pitching rotation, but he lacks control and he doesn't throw very hard.", said Sam Pound. "Well that's something that you would need to work on with him if we bring him to the club. Do you think we should bring him aboard? "Yes, I do.", said Sam Pound. "Okay, 1 player down 39 more to go." The 4 men talked for many hours until they chose the team. The team will look like this: SP Zach Mercer SP Fernando Cruz SP Jerd Potenza SP Randy Landry SP Damian Jerome RP Mo Lorenzo RP Carlos Sanhueza RP Chad Palmer RP Connor Gomez RP Kyle Davis CP Marty Stone C Chris Donaldson 1B Demetrius Jones 2B Dong-Sun Kim 3B Sam Jenkins SS Kevin Jacobs LF JaMichael Wild CF Kale Danish RF Jake Smith BU Humberto Quintero BU Great Blanco BU Jayson Nix BU Justin Ruggiano BU Charlton Jimerson BU Great White AAA Great Reyes AAA Adam Melhuse AAA Joe Dillon AAA Kyle Snyder AAA Kirk Sarloos AAA Fernando Hernandez AAA Enrique Gonzalez |
