ESPN.COM December 20th 2007 A heart crushing day has happened to baseball fans all alike. Major League Baseball will be defunct as of today, After very violent fights for a change in the MLB's Drug Policy varying from the testing procedures and the lack of effort of enforcement of the rules by the league; which has lead a mass majority players on a strike and going the extra mile by demanding to be released from the teams in show of their disdain for the MLB. This has also lead to the MILB (Minor League Baseball) separating ties from Major League baseball in hopes to become the dominant force in the world of baseball. This new massive power shift warranted a name change with in the MILB to the All-American Baseball League or AAB. The newly Re-branded league will consist of a majority of teams from the AAA cities to insure a speedy start for the 2008 season. The AAB has already secured TV Rights with ESPN/ABC/FOX/etc for more then hundreds of millions of dollars, making the AAB the top earning sports league in the United States; with a bright future ahead for the AAB they are hoping to attract the former MLB players to gain even more popularity with in the American public which has seem to be working with many declaring to be the AAB inaugural draft starting January 1st 2008. "with this type of buzz and popularity we plan to make Baseball a more entertaining sport then ever", says AAB commissioner Skip Wilson and was very confident in saying so, we at ESPN just hope for the best in this newly found league. ======================================================================================================================= Around the Network (Social Media) Buster Olney @BUSTER_espn (12/22/07) Can't wait for the fresh start that the #AAB will bring to baseball Parker Watson @NYYFan3 (12/25/07) hoping there a NY team in the #AAB but the Yanks will always be in my heart #RIPMLB Justin Verlander @JustinVerlander (12/27/07) I won't be a #DetroitTiger anymore, will be a day of mixed emotions #RIPMLB #AAB ======================================================================================================================= Side Notes I will take control of one team during the season and mainly focus on that teams games. I haven't officially decided what team to take yet so I wont do another update until much later. The teams have a mix of the Default MLB Rosters sprinkled with Success mode players and the auto generated rookies that come from season mode. How did you decide rosters? |

I did a fantasy draft for the rosters, but the whole composition of players with in the league was just off of what I felt like. As towards the the draft and my choice in selection it was just a focus to have a dominate as possible rotation and closer and I worked around that. ============================================================================================= Week 1 WHAS Louisville Local News The Cobras play their second game vs the OKC to kick off this inaugural season of baseball.The Cobras Sparking a late game rally by Ryan Ludwick with a bases clearing double that knocked in 2 runs, as well as a considerably Ok performance from the Cobras starter Eric Paterson, who did gain the win but did only throw six innings giving up 3 runs, all while striking out 10 batters. "This performance can been seen as a step in the right direction" says Cobras Coach Greg Paveria, and has also been noted off the record for saying that he has the most championship ready team in the AAB; let's see how well this confidence carries over to the team down the road. ====================================================================== Oklahoma City Fire at Louisville Cobras Apr 2, 2008 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E Oklahoma City (2-0) 0 1 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 3 14 0 Louisville (0-2) 0 0 0 1 0 3 0 0 X 4 11 1 W: Eric Paterson 1-0 L: Cole Hamels 0-1 S: Randy Flores 0-0 Scoring Summary SCORING DETAILS OKC LOU Oklahoma City Fire HITTERS AB R H RBI BB SO HR AVG Brandon Hopper 5 0 1 0 0 3 0 .200 Clint Barmes 5 0 0 0 0 3 0 .000 Carlos Pena 5 0 0 0 0 4 0 .000 Bryan Stewart 4 0 2 0 0 0 0 .500 Marquis Warrick 4 0 1 0 0 1 0 .250 Carlos Gomez 4 2 3 0 0 1 0 .750 Derrick Smitherma 4 1 3 0 0 0 0 .750 Kaleb Pettyjohn 4 0 2 2 0 0 0 .500 Walter Abraham 4 0 2 1 0 1 0 .500 Louisville Cobras HITTERS AB R H RBI BB SO HR AVG James Carter 4 0 1 0 0 0 0 .250 Colin Lewis 4 0 0 0 0 0 0 .000 Freddie Bynum 4 1 4 0 0 0 0 1.000 Frank Reynolds 4 1 0 0 0 1 0 .000 Scott Hatteberg 4 1 2 0 0 0 0 .500 Luis Calderon 4 1 2 2 0 0 0 .500 Ryan Ludwick 3 0 1 2 0 0 0 .333 David Ross 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 .000 Anthony Fields 3 0 1 0 0 0 0 .333 Oklahoma City Fire PITCHERS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Cole Hamels 6 9 4 4 0 1 0 6.00 Tyler Yates 2 2 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 Louisville Cobras PITCHERS IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Eric Paterson 6 11 3 3 0 10 0 4.50 Randy Flores 3 3 0 0 0 3 0 0.00 ========================================================================= Social Media Luis Calderon @Calderon64 2 for 4 today vs #OKCFire great way to start the season off Clint Barnes @Clintbarmes Just got dusted at the plate today by @EricPatOfficial, he might be a rookie but he got some great stuff Marshall Elkheart @ProStatusGaming Just Watched OKC vs LOU #AAB game today, got to say loving this league more then the MLB #NewHope =========================================================================== Planning on doing game recap every week, then right at the end of each week do a massive summary rundown of the whole month. |
