At age 24 I am officially out of baseball after five subpar seasons with Houston, San Francisco, and Oakland. I decided to become a General Manager and try and make a winning team. Yet Being a Rookie GM and the Majors Youngest at that people will question my decisions and trades but I feel this could be a jump start to my team if the right person is brought in. I have been contacted by 6 teams all in the rebuilding stage. Chicago, Florida, Tampa Bay, Seattle, San Francisco, and Oakland. Could I make a dynasty or be out after my first season we will see.

Well this season will be as good as the last hopefully we can come close to our 2007 success or better like we did in 2003 said the young GM. In comes his assistant Lance Hernandez a 44 yr old who has been in the league since he was 35. Here is a scouting report on some kids who can really help us. His play at first makes him a real Don Mattingly. So what do you think? inquired Lance. Well Joey began Paulson can be used at First base against lefties while Derek rests. While Hawkins and Sanhueza can both be used as swing man while working on control. If you find others let me know. Then Lance left the office. Joey planted his forehead on the desk thinking how did I end up with the Cubs of all teams.

Well Joey thought I'm 1-0 hopefully we can be in 1st until the all star break. Here's hoping then . The phone rang yes yes ok thanks bye. Well Lance sure can pick them a allstar caliber player but he doesn't want to sign. At least we got our prospects. (Knock Knock) Who is it? It's me. The skipper Lou Pinella walks in. Hey Joey you wanted to see me? Yeah Lou sit down. Joey began Lou I know you won't like this but I think you should start Paulson tomorrow against the Brewers. Lou then said but son he is just a rookie he needs time to adjust to the big leagues. Well, Joey interupted I believe he is ready now but your the manager so. Lou asked well I am glad you wanted him in the lineup but he is not ready yet. Ok Lou thank you for the observation. Lou left leaving the young GM to his thoughts "Me trying to tell Lou Pinella how to set up a lineup card what was I thinking?

Sanhueza, Paulson, Hawkins come to my office please. The trio of rookies collectively groaned as they walk to the GM Acaccia's office. Paulson said maybe he is gonna send us all down to Triple-A. Hawkins then said he couldn't be that cruel he is giving a big chance here in the majors he wouldn't send us down this early. I don't know why I'm here I haven't done anything yet said Sanhueza. They knocked on the door and went inside. The reason I brought you guys here is to congratulate Paulson and Hawkins for getting their first hr and First win. Paulson was stunned to be given a $500 bonus. Hawkins was given a new glove. Sanhueza then piped hey sir not to be harsh but why the hell am I here. I was getting to that TJ since we moved Ryan Dempster to the bullpen. You are officially our #4 starter in the rotation. At that moment the young rookie jumped up out his seat and started celebrating. His teammates were happy for him then they all went to go suit up for the afternoon game against Houston. Joey sat alone in his office thinking hopefully they keep producing this way or else I'm out of the job.
