Two or three trades should set your staff up well. Of the FA's, Dan Johnson, the "Great" 3B (converts well to just about any position), and the trio of decent RPs might be in order. You could use a CF, too. EDIT: Maybe it's Sanchez I'm thinking of instead of Olsen. Either way, one of those two guys is really good, the other, pretty bad. |

Love logs with the default Marlins. Young core that you can build around is intriguing. |

Marlins Acquire Snell from Pirates In a blockbuster move, the Florida Marlins have announced that they have acquired Ian Snell from the Pirates for Mark Hendrickson. GM Power Pros 27 said he feels the move bolsters a pitching staff in need of young talented help. The Marlins have also signed free agents Matt Morris, Chuck James, Hideo Nomo, Dan Johnson, and Abraham Nunez. The first three signings are an obvious attempt to help a terrible pitching staff in desperate need of veteran leadership. |

Ian Snell is the second scariest looking player in this game, behind Greg Maddux... his eyes gave me nightmares. |

New York Mets (0-0) @ Florida Marlins (0-0) Opening Day!!!! Florida- The Marlins dropped game 1 of the 2008 season in a thrilling 12-10 Mets win. The Mets started the slugfest in the top of the 2nd, when Carlos Beltran hit a home run of Ian Snell. Dan Uggla blasted a 2-run homerun to counter it though, but the Mets came back with 4 runs in the top of the 4th. The Mets led 6-3 in the bottom of the 6th when Jeremy Hermida blasted a 2-run shot of the foul pole in left off Johan Santana, knocking him out of the game. Down 12-5 in in the 9th, the Marlins stormed back for 5 runs, (including Uggla' s 2nd home run) but Jeremy Hermida struck out with runners on second and third to end the game.
