The Texas Rangers have participated in the MLB "Dream Draft" and their roster is as follows: SP Felix Hernandez Zach Duke Tim Lincecum Justin Verlander Brandon McCarthy Ian Kennedy Anthony Lerew RP Jonathan Papelbon Jason Frasor C.J. Wilson Royce Ring Chad Orvella Jesus Colome Darren O'Day Brandon Morrow Rich Thompson Randy Wells Catchers Carlos Ruiz Jeff Mathis Geovany Soto Infielders Dan Johnson - 1B Robinson Cano - 2B Ryan Zimmerman - 3B Stephen Drew - SS Joey Votto - 1B Brendan Harris - 2B, SS, 3B Elliot Johnson - 2B Outfielders Josh Willingham - LF Josh Hamilton - CF Hunter Pence - RF Twitchy McPherson - CF, LF, RF Adam Jones - CF Justin Upton - RF Ryan Sweeney - RF, CF, LF The team also signed undrafted catcher Kevin Cash and first baseman Justin Huber. ----- So, here's my latest log attempt. This is in 2008 season mode. All CPU settings are on Normal. I have semi-auto (Powerful) fielding and lock-on, level 2. This season mode is on my mom's Wii so I may have more or less access to it depending on A/C situations and the like. I will be using the DEFAULT roster with no edits. I will post Twitchy McPherson's full abilities later with his password. Agents are allowed, up to 2 players, and you may SUGGEST what they train. I will try to get some more exciting updates included, I didn't have the creative inspiration for this update. |

This is a pretty good team to start. Lots of young stars. Looks like a team I would pick actually. |

After the Rangers' 11-inning Opening Day victory in Seattle, the staff of the Arlington Star sat down with Texas' general manager, Jon Daniels. STAR: Mr. Daniels, thank you for taking the time to sit down with us. Anything you'd like to say before we start asking questions? JD: I've said this before, and I'll say it again - I believe that this team can win several AL West titles, and at least make a run at a World Series. STAR: Any particular reasons why you are so confident? JD: We have a strong lineup and rotation, and a good core for the future. STAR: Can you give some insight into your future plans? JD: We hope to build Joey Votto and Adam Jones into starters, and to retain as much of our current lineup as possible, with top priorities being Ryan Zimmerman, Robinson Cano, and Hunter Pence. Pitching-wise we hope to grow our young pitchers, like Lincecum, Hernandez, and Wilson, into a strong pitching staff. STAR: There have been talks of converting players to new positions in the off-season. Are these true? JD: We would like to add some flexibility to our roster, yes, but there are no specific plans as the off-season is a long ways away from now. STAR: What do you think of the two teams' use or disuse of their bullpens in the last game? JD: Well, we use more of a specialized bullpen - Royce Ring is good at getting lefties out, and Darren O'Day is good against right-handed hitters. The Mariners had a more stretched-out bullpen, with Hong-Chih Kuo being able to pitch several innings in relief. In the future, we will look to figure out if we need to add a long reliever. For now, we just ask that our starters give us quality innings. STAR: Thank you for your time. |

When you say fielding is "semi-auto," does that mean the computer has your player get to the ball automatically and you choose where to throw it? |

ERISA Dude wrote: When you say fielding is "semi-auto," does that mean the computer has your player get to the ball automatically and you choose where to throw it? Yeah. I've never been good at fielding in any game (Power Pros, The Show, 2K, or anything else) so I usually have the cpu do it for me. |
