Hawaii gets MLB Team!

Commissioner Bud Selig has granted 2 new MLB Franchises! The Hawaii Americans and The Las Vegas Snakes. Hawaii will begin play in the AL West while Las Vegas will go into the NL West. According to reports Hawaii's owners are Budweiser and Vegas's owners are Coors. The 2 teams will begin play at the start of the 2008 season. Hawaii has named 19 year old Brad Macintosh there GM. We caught up with Brad. "Well my first order of buissness is to sign at least 1 young stud. I don't know if thats a pitcher or a fielder we just need a good starting point."

Hawaii links Av to a Contract

Hawaii has linked 3rd Base prospect and College standout Av Avley to a major league deal. "I said 3 months ago we would pick someone up and we did." GM Brad Mcintosh explained. Av has above average power and a good arm for the hot corner.Hopefully he can help the Americans improve.

The Americans could not handle Houston's bats in their first game. Led by Kaz Matsui Houston finished with a 9-3 victory. "We just had the right hits in the right spots." said outfielder Hunter Pence who homered in the 9th inning. "Tough" American's GM Brad Mcintosh replied. "But Av, great player!" Indeed great finishing 2-4 with a Homer and all 3 RBI's. He almost had another in the 7th until robbed by Carlos Lee. Starter Boyd was called upon for opening day throwing 3 2/3 innings. He gave up 5 runs (all earned) and struck out 3. Catch the Americans again tommorow.

American's sign Gonzalez

The American's have signed releiver Enrique Gonzalez he will take the roster spot of Lara, who struggled in the last game. "I am happy to play for Hawaii." he said through a translator. "Enrique possess a hard fastball most of team lacks." GM Mcintosh says. Will this help move the American's to 1-1? Find out at 1 AM EST, 12 AM CST, 11 AM MST and 10 PST on the Hawaii Sports Network!
