USA TODAY
Exiting the 2007 season a unexpected turn of events happened for the American Past-time known as baseball. Major League Baseball has folded and will no longer exist as the forefront for American baseball. Little is known about the reasons why the league, but many speculate it has to do with interactions between the MLBPA and Bud Selig within the restraints of drug testing for PED's; as well as Selig's allegations of defrauding teams of funding as well alleged rigging of MLB games by Selig and umpires at attempt of making extra money for them selves. As all of these issues have occurred during this off-season many players and enraged and worried about the future of baseball being a lucrative and successful sport in the United States. Many have already moved on to the Nippon Professional Baseball League for means of works while others are coming together to make a league that can replace the MLB as the most Influential and powerful league in baseball. Not much is known from this point as of what this new league will be comprised of, but there is my hype surrounding the possible creation of this new Replacement to the MLB. A Majority of the MLBPA Associates being the forefront in the creation of the new MLB league only have announced the name of the league and nothing else "North American Baseball League", All informations is "up and the air and completely at this point", says Donald Fehr "we hope to be ready to go as soon as 2008 but as of now nothing is promised along the lines of the teams, stadiums, funding with in the creation of the league."

More to come....

USA TODAY (8/12/07)

Today the MLB Player's Association has officially announced the creation of the North American Baseball League. It will be comprised of 30 teams like the original MLB league was. The North American Baseball League (NABL) will be hosted in cities of mainly old MILB Triple AAA teams instead of being in most of the major cities that the MLB was. Even though that's a sign of a somewhat smaller market within the league there is no shortage of talent with in the league of self. Some Major Leaguers have decided to participate in the NABL,while others are helping through funding the league or doing behind the scenes work to help the league run smoothly. The executive board announced that the NABL inagural draft will be held this upcoming week (8/25/07) and teams will begin negotiating contracts until the start of the season (Which has been predicted to start in early march.)

NABL's inagural draft has commenced and teams are preparing to go into the 162 game season. There is some what of a toss up in some division of there possible post season outcomes, but the NABL seems to be a fairly even league because no team excells in all aspects of the game, making for some interesting games and season. We all will sit and watch nervously the development of this new league in hopes to bring baseball in a new light that the MLB couldn't.

eh that was fault of mine trying to make the division geographically correct. I kept thinking Guam was a Caribbean island

North American Baseball League Recap

4/2 - 4/6....2008
It's seem to be a very interesting kick off to the first season of the NABL. many teams have started the season to a 4-0 record which something almost unnatural to see in most professional leagues, but one thing a vast group of the 4-0 teams have is a great pitching staff that have only allowed less then 2.50 Earned Runs on average. Being early as it is we do know this records wont stay but it is fascinating to see some of these teams create a amazing bullpen that can win games under many horrid conditions.

4/6 - 4/13 ..... 2008

as we jump into the second week of games we see only 6 teams stay above .600 winning percentage. The Tacoma Reapers and Minneapolis Knights are putting on early hot streak of wins both at 10-2. the knights who have consited of a starting rotation of Barry Zito, Dontrelle Willis, Jamie Medrano, Great Bennett and Ryan Stark have manage to keep a ERA under 3.00 as starters and Willis who has dominated his last 3 outings with a 1.98 ERA and 14 Strike outs, as well as the major production of starting short stop alex cora the past few weeks (.458 AVG 4 HR 14 RBI). The Knights have been on a roll, but not to forget the Reapers with a virutally similar star studded rotation (John Lackey, Greg Maddux,Scott Mathieson,Jeff Chaiffred,Tim Wakefield) with a team ERA of 1.83 it shows the dominance of this pitching staff. Much more to look out for the upcoming season but we expect big things in the weeks ahead.

4/14-4/20 (oh the unintentional weed puns begin)

As we end the third week of regular season play we look towards to standings to notice Omaha Blazers have taken the number spot in the American League; at 13-6 going on a 7 game winning streak to secure the AL Central for now.The Blazers pitching staff isn't phenomnal by far with Boof Bonser and Harold Mallette Being the only starters to maintain a under 4.00 ERA. The sticks on this team are fairly solid which has been the main reason the team has stayed in games, with the ability to constantly go for extra base hits and scoring of line shots to the outfield the blazers have managed to be team with some momentum going towards the end of the week. Even though Omaha has become the new arrival to the number spot in the AL, the NL has been on lock-down by the Tacoma Reapers, a team with a spectacular 3.23 Team ERA and the Lowest amount of runs allowed in the National League (61) from start to finish the Reapers prove to be a problem for oncoming hitters to the first and last innings of every game, one of the reason why they are 14 and 4 at the moment

Players of the Week
Adrian Matteo(Las Vegas) .565 AVG 3 HR 17 RBI
Howie Kendrick(Minneapolis) .519 AVG 4 HR 14 RBI
Albert Pujols 1B (Round Rock) .583 AVG 3 HR 5 RBI
Great Young 3B (Tacoma) .522 AVG 1 HR 14 RBI

Other Noteable Performances
Taysuke Kuramochi(Las Vegas) .36 ERA 25 IP 3-0 W-L 25 Ks
Ramon Hernandez(OKC) 0.00 ERA 7.1 IP 0-0 W-L 7 SV 7 Ks
Jered Weaver (Phoenix) 0.38 ERA 24.0 IP 2-0 W-L 12 Ks
Placido Polanco (Honolulu) .406 AVG 1 HR 16 RBI
Carlos Ruiz (Durham) .392 AVG 1 HR 7 RBI 18 Runs

American League East
-------------------------
Minneapolis Knights 12-6
Montreal Explores 11-7

4/21-4/27

Week 4 has passed and we have some amazing developments over 7 days. The Pawtucket Red Claws are now a game behiend the Minneapolis Knights at 16-9, the team long ball style of play has started working for them. David Ortiz,Jim Edmonds,Dan Uggla,Adrian Gonzalez have stepped up to in massive strides improving the team batting average from a .252 to a .269. Relying on Home runs has put a starin on this team but the lack luster Pitching Rotation has picked up a bit. Now having the lowest team ERA in the American League East, Patrick DeVore has helped out at the starting rotation pitching 26.2 Innings and holding a 3.71 ERA and 28 Strike outs; albiet he holds a 0-2 record (lack of hitting being the reason) he been a major factor along with relief pitchers like Frank Lynn and Ramon Esquivel to put the Red Claws in 2nd Place.

Players of the Week
Ryan Branes (Las Vegas) 0.00 ERA 1-0 11 K

Hmm...this makes me wonder...which team are you controlling for this specific log (I'm assuming you aren't playing any games as this team)? I'm not asking for you to control just one team and lose the whole purpose of the log, I'm just a bit curious at this detail.

I have control of the Las Vegas Wolf pack, but yea the only things I do are assign players to practice and do trades and drop and pick up players.
