The first year of the Independent league was a huge success, even if the best team in the league was miles ahead of the rest of the league. That team was the Scranton Warriors.

The Warriors were able to win the first ever independent league world series going 11-1 in the postseason with a 1.25 team ERA and scoring an average of 3.5 runs per game. I realize a lot of people probably won't follow this off this post, but i already started my second season and i just wanted to get people caught up with how i was doing. I do play every single game in the season, I never simulate any of the games. I currently hold the second best record in the league in my second season with the team, I have a 41-24 record right now.

Assuming you even know what "agents" means, I'll take Sweeney and Barton.

Also, welcome!

I'm honestly not sure how agents work, if someone could please explain everything to me that would be great, thanks.

Everyone can get 1-2 agents and they can just say how they want them to practice. If they want a higher batting spot in the lineup exc.

If we pick a player, you mark us by that player, and we root for them, ask for updates, more playing time. Like that.

Or this. Liam you beat me to it

Oh okay I gotcha, well i'll post this season's roster, and stats through 20+ games because i tend to write down updated stats every 30 games or so. This way you can make sure you still want the same players and if i even still have them on my team.

Post subject:  Re: Scranton Warriors, King of the Independent League.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the season as of right now but these are just some notable games from the 2009 season. Tell me what you guys think(i rushed through this because i usually do most of my playing late at night)

Notable Games
R H E
Warriors 1 3 0
Knights 0 1 0
(W)Durvisuski(5-1) (L)Mathieson(3-1)

Durvisuski, The 6th man in the rotation threw the first complete game for the warriors in the 2009 season today. He had a no hitter going into the 8th inning, then he gave up a infield single that went right by 3rd baseman Nick Punto, and the Shortstop Greene. He did face the least amount of batters possible(27) though. Durvisuski went 9 IP giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 7. Greene played a huge part in today's game as he was the only one seeing Kinghts right handed starter Mathieson. He went 2-3 at the plate with one home run, the only RBI, and he checked in with a double.
R H E
Warriors 4 6 0
Cobras 1 5 0
(W)J.Oilhands(3-2) (L)D.Lowe(2-2) (SV)Rocket(13)

The big boys Ryan Howard and Ryan Braun helped power the best pitching performance since the Durvisuski 1 hit shut out. J.Oilhands did a great job pitching 7 great innings giving up just 1 earned run on 5 hits while striking out 6. Oilhands threw 63 Pitches, 31 Fastballs, 12 Changeups, 8 Curveballs, 5 Cutters, and 5 sinking fastballs. Patrick Star pitched a great 8th inning and he holds the lowest era in baseball with a 0.61. Otto Rocket came in to save and got 3 contact outs for a big win for the Warriors.
R H E F/10
Warriors 4 15 1
Cobras 3 12 0
(W)Seanez(2-2) (L)Bonser(5-2)

Ryan Braun did waht he does best today, he hit yet another walk off homerun. Litsch didn't get the defensive help from his teammates he probably wanted. He went 5 1/3 innings pitched giving up 2 runs(0 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 6. The Warriors used their B line up today giving starts to terada and Cantu(their first of the season) it worked out though as Terada went 3-3 with a double and two singles. The hero of the day Ryan Braun went 2-5 with Two RBI's. The Warriors hope to keep this type of baseball going as they are now 32-20 on the year. Livings is taking the mound in tomorrow's game against the Cobras, he has a 2.15 ERA with a (3-1) Record in 7 starts on the year.
R H E F/12
Warriors 3 13 0
Cougars 2 3 0
(W)Patrick.S(7-1) (L)Chacon(1-2)

Second year pitcher S.Screws pitched a great 8 innings of baseball giving up only 3 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 11. Patrick Star just about did better than that, pitching 4 innings while giving up zero hits and striking out 7.Greene was the hero as he hit a walk off single in the bottom of the 12th to score Ryan Braun, he went 2-5 with one RBI.
R H E
Warriors 6 13 0
Bees 3 4 1
(W)Gorzelanny(3-3) (L)Washburn(2-5)

Gorzelanny's first start back from the DL started off great but ended terribly and may cause him to miss extended time. Gorzelanny pitched 8 solid innings giving up only 2 earned runs on 3 hits while striking out 4. But as the manager tried to stretch him and get him his first ever complete game something went wrong with his elbow and he was forced to come out of the game. Patrick Star took over for him and got the job done but he did allow a 2 run home run(one earned, one earned for Gorzelanny). Deafface had a big game for the Warriors as he went 2-5 with 2 home runs and 2 RBIs. Ryan Braun went 3-3 with one HR and one double with 2 RBI's. Luckily the draft is tomorrow so if Gorzelanny does have to miss time a young rookie pitcher can hopefully contribute and help get this struggling pitching staff on the right track.
R H E
Warriors 2 8 0
Bees 3 10 0
(W)F.Paulino(3-3) (L)J.Oilhands(3-3)

Jim Oilhands pitched pretty bad today as he went 3 2/3 IP giving up 3 earned runs on 8 hits while striking out 5. Rookie pitcher Sain made his first ever apperance today as he went 2 1/3 innings pitched, giving up just 1 hit and striking out 4. Griffiths also made his first ever start in right field. he went 0-4 at the plate with one strike out.

Ruiz gets a 1 out single to put the tying run up to the plate, Gurch hits a tailor made double play to the 3rd baseman to end the game.

Winning Pitcher: Penny(2-3) 9 IP 5 H, 2 SO, 1 ER.
Losing Pitcher: S.Screws(3-4) 5 2/3 IP 6 H, 9 SO, 3 ER

In a post game interview with the Scranton Times, S.Screws was asked about his outing, "You know, in this league you just can't leave breaking balls hanging, and thats what happened today" Steve Screws is having a bit of a sophomore slump, last year(his rookie season) he went 12-1 with a 1.15 ERA with one complete game shut out. The Warriors have now dropped two in a row but still hold a 7 game lead over the Lobsters in the NL east.
