(NOTE: ROSTER LOCATED NEAR THE END)

I have been fine tuning the season mode since I first got my hands on this awesome game, making it more and more difficult as time went on. I played the heck out of success mode until I have now Four full rosters of players. At that point I started just editing teams, because it takes less time to edit a whole team than it takes to make one success player.

Which brings us to right now. I have created a team based on my favorite team since 1987, the Giants. Thats about 25 years of Candlestick park losing and a bunch of losing/almost winning at ATT park. And now I get to bask in the eternal glow of the one title they may ever win in my lifetime. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to play against the super freaked out success teams i had made, and make some other good, but not as good, teams to play against them, plus a couple REALLY bad teams, and then make my team somewhere in the middle and try to fight my way to the top. Ideally, I would have made 30 teams to have a full universe of players. I have not gotten that far. But I did manage to make enough teams to fill up a whole league.

the teams(with overall rank): 1. Diablos Diablos (led by team captaon El Diablo of course) 2.Miami Blue Sox 3.Ninja Blacksox 4.Tucson Compadres (those are my four teams of success players.

more teams, less sure of over all rank American Dreams, SNK Crushers, Nineties, Eighties, Aughts, Oldies (featuring Babe Ruth, Cy Young, etc). I was obviously inspired by Baseball Stars, but I didnt go the whole way and try to have original rosters. no, these are far more fun.

the bottom feeders include the Marlins(edited), Nationals(edited), the Luvly Ladies (worst of the worst), the Ladypops (Madonna, Whitney Houston, M.I.A., among others) and the Utah Uppers.

Finally, we have my team, the Fresno Orange Crush. They play at ATT park and wear a lot of Orange, or as closer Brian Wilson puts it "we wear ridiculous amounts of awesome". The team is good, but against most of the competition they have to battle for most every win they get. The roster includes current and former Giants, with most of todays favorites represented (apologies to Hector Sanchez and Ryan Theriot)

The Roster: 1B Will Clark, 2B Freddy Sanchez, 3B Pablo Sandoval, SS Juan Uribe, LF Barry Bonds, CF Melky Cabrera, RF Aubrey Huff. SPs Linsecum, Bumgarner, Cain, Zito, Vogelsong, RPs Wilson, Romo, Lopez, Casilla, Affeldt, and bringing back Kirk "Woody" Reuter and Livan Hernandez. The bench includes Schierholtz, Jeff Kent, Belt, Pagan, and Burrell.

Ok, so there it is, please answer the poll if this is at all interesting to you. and please post comments about the roster, format, whatever.

FRESNO ORANGE CRUSH Opening Series at the SNK CRUSHERS, from Petco Park

game 1: CC Sabathia vs Tim Linsecum.
Scoreless thru the Orange 6th, Teixeira hit a 465 ft blast to just right of center to break a scoreless tie. CC threw eight shutout innings, but in the 9th Barry Bonds reached second with a one out double through the pull shift. Buster Posey then hit a 2 out, 2 run homer to dead center off C.C. to give his pitcher the lead. Tim Linsecum blew thru the 9th for the complete game victory.
FINAL: FRESNO 2, SNK 1
W: Linsecum(1-0) L: Sabathia(0-1) HR: Texiera(1); Posey (1)

game 2: Madison Bumgarner vs Felix hernandez, and another scoreless contest into the bottom of the 6th. Jose Reyes beats out a double play ball, then was sacrificed to second by Felix Hernandez. Matt Kemp followed with an opposite field double to plate Reyes. With 2 outs in the top of the 7th, Panda Sandoval hit an !Adios Pelota! to left field to tie the game at one. In the bottom of the 9th, game still tied and two out, Brian McCann flicked a single to left and Prince Fielder was waived home by third base coach Ron Washington and it looked like game over. However, Barry Bonds fielded the ball with a full head of steam and sent a rocket throw from shallow left to nail Fielder by a cats whisker and send the game into extras. Leading off the 12th, Dr Dooom himself, Barry Bonds stepped in and whacked a Zack Grienke CircleChangeUp 412 ft to center field to score what would be the winning run.
FINAL SCORE: FRESNO 2, SNK 1
W: Lopez (1-0), Sv: Wilson (1), L: Grienke (0-1) HR: Bonds (1); Sandoval (1)

Authors notes: I am typing up most of this on the fly with my laptop in between innings. I will be refining my format as this rolls on I am sure, embellishing the narrative with interviews and stuff. I do intend to post full rosters so you can get to know my squad and those of my opponents, so those are coming soon. I welcome all suggestions for what you want to see and read here. Cheers to all, the season has begun.

2ND Series, CRUSH at TUCSON COMPADRES, at Dodger Stadium

game 1: Matt Cain vs Paco Del Grande. Posey hit a 2 run homer off Del grande in the top of the 2nd that hit the second deck facade in right field, and thats all the Orange would score in regulation. Del Grande hung tough, and with the score still 2-0, he helped his own cause with a two out, solo homer to make it a one run game. A bloop single in the 9th by Lee Harvey Gunt would plate Nap Lajoie and send the game to extras. In the 11th, with none out and runners at first and third, Barry Bonds hit into a double play to plate Will Clark from third. Brian Wilson pitched a scoreless bottom of the 11th for his second save.
FINAL: Fresno 3, Tucson 2
W: Casilla (1-0) Sv: Wilson (2) L: Radicchio (0-1) HR: Del Grande (1); Posey (2)

game 2: Barry Zito vs 3FingrBrwn
On a soggy day in LA, yet another pitchers duel was on hand. Scoreless into the 8th, Freddy Sanchez got a two out single to bring home Barry Zito. Not to be outdone, 3FingrBrwn blasted a two out homer with one on to give himself all the run support he would need. 3FingrBrwn induced the 4th double play of the day out of Aubrey Huff to seal the victory.
Final: TUCSON 2, FRESNO 1
W:3FingrBrwn(1-0), L: Zito(0-1) HR: 3FingrBrwn(1)

game 3: Ryan Vogelsong vs V.D. Spinnurd
The action picked up in the bottom of the 3rd, when shortstop Tony Longmire hit a solo homer to get Tucson on the board. In the 4th, Barry Bonds singled and took third on Sandoval’s single up the middle. In taking third, Bonds' shoulder made hard contact with the knee of third baseman Sammy Vamanos. Willie Mays was summoned from his field level seat, and after a brief chat and shoulder rub, Barry stayed in the game, and scored on Posey’s groundout to first baseman Mickey Tettleton, whose throw home was just too late. In the top of the 5th, Orange SS Juan Uribe hit a line drive that just cleared the short right field wall, and the visitors led 3-1. Tucson pitcher V.D. Spinnurd helped his own cause with an RBI single in the 5th. With the Crush leading 4-3 in the 8th, Longmire hit his second dinger of the day to center field. The score was still 4-4 when Tettleton(4trj, 255pwr) hit the first pitch of the Tucson 9th for a walk-off blast.
Final: TUCSON 5, FRESNO 4
W:Raddichio(1-1) L: J.Lopez(1-1) HR: Longmire (1),(2); Bombersan(2); Tettleton(1); Uribe(1)
