Bud Selig was NOT having a good day.

In fact, his entire week had been pretty bad. More people pushing for Barry Bonds to be stripped from the record books. More people pushing for Pete Rose to be un-banned from baseball. He hadn’t done anything notable in a while, though, and Jackie Robinson Day and home run instant replays weren’t cutting it. He needed to think of something to gain popularity before-

His secretary stepped in, interrupting his thoughts.

“Mr. Selig, I, uh, have important news.”

“Yes, what is it, Linda?” Bud pretended to look over papers as he responded nonchalantly.

“Well, um,” she spoke with a troubled voice, as if what she was about to say might, perhaps, get her fired, “the players. They're kinda, sorta, striking.”

Bud set down the papers he had been pretending to look at. “Where did you get this information?”

“Um, from the players. The MLBPA, sir,” Linda told him. Bud didn’t say a word. She continued, “They said they’ll hold out ‘till they get what they want.”

“Well, then, this should be an easy fix. Have the owners give them whatever it is they want!” Selig instructed. He mumbled, “Sheesh, do I have to fix everything around here?”

“Sir, they don’t want anything from the owners. In fact, mostly all of them are very pleased with their salaries and benefits.”

“Well then what are they holding out for?”

“Sir, they want you to retire.”

Just finished writing this up. Not sure how many of these it will be before it gets to the actual season. What do you guys think?

When a players association/union stops working for better rights, its called a Strike. When the owners don't allow them to work, its called a lockout.

Sorry for the technicality nerd here, but this looks awesome! Make a team in North Carolina!

Are you kidding me? I WISH i was a technicality nerd.

And, make a team in Brooklyn. Because, y'know, Brooklyn kicks Aspercreme.

In the 2005 World Series, Selig said the Minute Maid Park roof had to be open. Thus, killing our home field advantage. Not to mention it was ridiculously cold. There were arguably more signs attacking Selig, than in support of the Astros. They wisely elected not to display him on-screen during the pre-game, there would have been a booing storm rivaling Barry Bonds and Julio Lugo.

Gahh, my bad. I'll change it. I already made the teams, but I can change the Norfolk team to Charlotte.

To lanceberkman, like I said, already made the teams.

To BennyBaseball, sorry, I don't think Brooklyn is an option.
