Post subject: | Thinkin of starting a log.. |
I'm thinking of starting a season log, my first one, as I've been inspired by all of you guys making them. It would be my own updated rosters of now, but I probably need more guys to be created, Carlos Santana is one of my requests being possibly made. Since my roster is compiled of players originally in the game, players in the game due to edits, and players added in from this site, I also would need some other young guys who debuted in 2008 and 2009 for it to be a full 2011 season (and this is a long list): Jay Bruce (someone made him but made him a CF , have him playing RF anyway ![]() ![]() As you can see, a lot of holes are not filled, but I could probably edit some of those guys into the game. Even without all of those guys, the roster is pretty much updated with a majority of the teams having correct rosters. I'll probably have to check over the lineups. And with that said, who do you guys think I should be? I'm thinking I want the challenge of rebuilding a team. I can't really be teams like the Astros because they don't have enough players on their team from my aforementioned methods, but also because neither I nor the people here have made their young guys (I mentioned Johnson, and maybe Brett Wallace, even though he didn't debut 'till 2010.) I'll have to look over other peoples' logs to see how they write theirs, but I have a basic idea. My difficulty will be Expert, with the Expert pitching control. What do you guys think? Should I do the season even though there are some spots aren't filled? (The spots are usually filled by the All-Star Break because the CPU makes a lot of trades.) Who should I be? And lastly, is there anyone who wants to help by making some of the players from above? Thanks for any responses. |

I love reading everybody's logs, so yes, do one. I don't really think it matters if you don't have 15 current players. I think maybe use the Nationals or Rays if you're looking for a rebuilding team. Check out the URL and read the last post. I think LM117 is pretty accurate on that. It should help. http://www.mlbppworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4560 |

Rockies would be good too. Padres have great pitching, if you want a team with good pitching. Or maybe the Marlins? |

I like the idea of the Rockies, with their young stars, like the 'DBacks, but I don't know who will be my ace without Ubaldo. In my rosters, I have Aaron Cook, Jorge De La Rosa (edited in to the game), and Jason Hammel in their rotation. In AAA, they do have options though: Edgar G. Gonzalez, Eric Stults, and don't forget the suspended John Maine! ![]() No Latos for SD, so they have Richard, Harang, Stauffer, and Moseley in the rotation. I'd have to work on the offense, but that be a nice challenge. I've recently done one with the Marlins, pretty fun team to rebuild with current roster. |

By the way, people on this forum don't like it when you post more than once in succession, so you can just edit your posts into one. My vote goes to the Padres because they don't start off good enough to win divisions or championships or anything. That always leads to a successful rebuilding log. |

Sorry to be all bossy and stuff, but you don't need 3 posts, you can just put it into 1. There's actually a rule on the forum that there are no double posts. That means posting 2 times in a row. Its fine if its sometime later, and you have new info to share though. Just not splitting your post into 3 sections. But anyway: Maybe do the Giants then? They have good pitching, and Buster Posey will come back, and Sandoval is pretty good. Plus, they just acquired Beltran. I think they sound good too, maybe? Dangit mac, you took my post! But he wants to do a log with CURRENT rosters. |

I say choose your favorite team, do Dream Draft, select a pitcher + 9 fielders with 390 salary (that are good), add all your created players, demote the Dream Draft-ed guys, then trade them for points. That's my strategy for 2007, anyways. Feel free to use it. |

I would probably trade Beltran though because I like to go young with my players. ![]() BTW, I'm not saying I have to rebuild a team, it's just an idea. EDIT: Why won't it let me delete the earlier posts? |

It doesn't matter, just try not to do it again. Maybe you could do the Brewers? ![]() ![]() But I like the Giants. |

The pitching would need some work besides Greinke, KRod, and Yovani. Might do SF. So far, I'm liking Giants, Brewers, Reds, and maybe Orioles. |
