Post subject:  when do players retire?

Anybody know a good way to estimate when a player will retire?

I'm playing my 2d season with the Rays and just picked up Dmitri Young as my DH/1B. I still have cliff Floyd on my roster, too. Anyway, both are over 30 (I think Young is 35) so I'm wondering how much longer they'll play.

Thank you!

It really depends on the circumstances surrounding said players. If they are 35, but have sat in AAA for several years, they'll call it quits eariler. But, If they've had one of two productive seasons before their stats drop, they'll be reluctant to retire. Every year, there seems to be one player who's retirement is a complete suprise. Its funny if its one of the other 29 teams, not if it happens to you.

There are certain players in '07 that retired 99% of the time at the end of the first season. I'm not sure about who those players would be in '08. One of the more avid season mode'ers would have more experience with that.
