OPENING DAY 2008: Twins vs. Angels

Back-to-Back Homers Win It for the Twins

MINNESOTA--A sold-out Metrodome looked on as the Twins, down 4-3, hit back-to-back homers to win the game in the bottom of the ninth. Cuddyer and Morneau were the heroes of the game, with two solo shots, Cuddyer's to dead-center and Morneau's barely missing the left-field upper deck. Scott Baker pitched 6 innings of 2-run ball, but did not factor in the decision.

W: Rincon
L: Lackey
HR: Cuddyer (1), Morneau (1), B.Harris (1); Figgins (1)
MVP: Morneau

Anyone else ever notice that if you say "Mike Lamb" really fast, it sounds like "My clam?" Maybe he has a pet clam. Maybe his parents did.

Morneau To Sit, Reportedly Day-to-Day

After bruising his hand in last night's game, Justin Morneau will sit the bench in the Twins game today. Mike Lamb will move from third to first, and Nick Punto will play third until Morneau recovers. Morneau is not expected to go on the DL.
