BREAKING NEWS! MILWAUKEE-The Milwaukee Brewers have fired former manager Ned Yost. The team owner said, “Ned just wasn’t giving the team what we wanted in our manager.” After sweeping the Braves in the NLDS, the Brewers were swept by the Mets in the NLCS. They only scored five runs in the four games. New manager Leo Michaels, a former student at Texas, did play sports in middle school. If you count Chess a sport. An anonymous player stated "This new guy doesn't know anything about baseball, but if the owner trusts him, I guess I'll have to" |

SPRING TRAINING ARIZONA- The Brewers were 3-0-1 in Spring Training games. Manager Michaels said "I'm happy that our team did so good in the training games. Our pitchers did very well." The Brewers beat the D-backs 3-0 in the first game. The game against the Mariners ended in a scoreless tie. They then crushed the Royals 6-0, then they beat the D-backs again by the same score 3-0. The Brewers pitchers gave up 0 runs in Spring Training. That's hopefully a good sign for the regular season. |

SHEETS TRADED MILWAUKEE-The Brewers traded away Ben Sheets and Cliff Lee to the Giants for SP starter Barry Zito. Michaels stated "We needed a left handed pitcher in our starting lineup, and Lee didn't have good enough pitches to stay on the team. Sheets was asking for too much in his contract, and he wasn't performing." |

It looked like that would be the final score, but Prince Fielder gave the Brewers an insurance run in the top of the ninth on an RBI single. It turned out that the Brewers would need that run.The Pirates rallied in the bottom of the ninth. After an RBI double by Paulino, Cabrera and Mclouth both hit RBI singles to tie the game at 4-4. No runs were scored in the tenth so they went to eleven. Weeks led off with a single, and Hardy followed suit. Braun reached on a fielder's choice, and Weeks was out at third. Then, Prince Fielder hit a 3 run HR on a high fastball to put the Brewers up 7-4. The Brewers didn't let the Pirates score in the bottom of the eleventh. I'm following. Looking good so far, keep it up. Allow me to introduce myself: I'm BennyBaseball, no relation to Bobby Baseball. Call me Benny. Oh, yeah: I'll take Braun and Fielder. For some reason, I like home run hitters. |

BREWERS WIN ON ZITO'S COMPLETE GAME BREWERS(5-3) 7 CUBS(4-4) 1 MILWAUKEE- The Brewers win was powered by Zito's complete game, and on the eighth inning slugfest. There wasn't any action in the first, but Cory Hart led off the second with a solo homer. The next inning, after a Hardy GO, Braun crushed a double to right center. Prince Fielder hit him home on a 2 run HR to make the score 3-0 going into the fourth inning. There wasn't much action until the seventh when Mark DeRosa hit a solo homerun. Soriano would have been on first, but he was thrown out trying to steal. That was the only run the Cubs would get. Then, the Brewers bats came to life in the eighth. Hardy singled to lead it off. Braun hit a frozen rope homer to right. Fielder didn't want to be left out of the party, so he hit his second homer of the day to left field. Cameron hit a pop up that was foul, but caught, and Hart did what Prince did and hit his second HR of the day to make the score 7-1. Zito was starting to tire in the ninth, but Manager Michaels let him stay in for the complete game. The Brewers split the series with the Cubs, two games a piece. The Brewers are tied in first with the Cardinals, who are coming to Milwaukee for a three game series against the Crew. W-Zito 2-0(CG, 79 pitches, 7 hits, 1K, 0BB, 1 run, 0.54 season ERA, both starts quality starts) L-Lilly 0-2 Hardy- 3-4, 3 singles, 1 run Braun- 3-4, HR(4), 2 RBIs, 2 runs Hart- 3-4, 2 HRs(2,3), 2 RBIs, 2 runs Fielder- 2-4, 2 HRs(4,5), 3 RBIs, 2 runs |
