This is a different team than my other old season log, just using the same name. This team is in the NL West, home stadium is Rainbow Beach Stadium.

Also, I haven't really played any games yet, so never mind this old quote (couple days old):

I think my season log will be on hold for a little bit. I don't see much point in staring it until a have a reasonable amount of spare time to invest into it.

Everyone Exceeds Expectations in 14-1 PowerPros Victory in Home Season Opener:

Kevin Parker pitched phenomenally in his first major league start, going 8 innings and striking out 13 batters, allowing few convincing hits (6 total) and no runs to earn the Quality Start. On the batting side of things, Tim Inidator showed promise early, receiving 2 pitches and hitting both over the fence. In the 8th inning, the whole team batted around, scoring 7 runs and letting Fireballer close out the game. Fireballer had a shaky first appearance, allowing 2 hit and a run, with no strikeouts, in one inning. When asked about his decision to take Kevin Parker out of the game for the 9th, PowerPros manager Mr.Johnson had this to say “Well, first of all, we have a 14-0 lead going into the 9th, why risk an injury to our star pitcher, you could tell he was getting tired, he was trying too hard in the 8th, he was getting a bit frustrated after a couple hits and he was throwing harder, there was no need for it, so I had to take him out, it was the responsible, smart thing to do.” After the game, Orlando Hudson of the Diamondbacks, who went hitless in the game, was asked about Parker’s pitching performance, he responded with “Beginner’s luck, he won’t be able to keep it up at this level.”

All of them are either success mode created or generated by the game for the arrange team. 15 are from success mode actually, I just counted.

And this team turned out good enough that they probably can make the playoffs, even with heavy simming, and factoring that they play in the NL West. Although the 4 and 5 starters (CPU generated) are awful and could play a huge factor in whether we get to the playoffs or not.

PowerPros win 8-2 in game two:

Loki Kaito pitched a great first start, a complete game allowing only two runs, 5 hits, and 9 strikeouts, both runs were allowed on solo home runs by the Diamondbacks’ catcher, Snyder. The PowerPros scored 4 runs in the 3rd and 8th innings respectively, 2 runs batted in by Tim, who hit his third career home run already. Snyder was interviewed after the game to ask about his hitting performance. “Well, there are times where you have to stop overthinking things like “What pitch is coming next? Where is he going to throw it?”, sometimes you just have to swing and hope for the best, it worked out for me, but the rest of the team just didn’t have enough lucky swings to make a game of it.”

On another note, I will be adjusting the difficulty slightly until I get things where I want them, I also think, for added realism, I will use the mode that allows you to watch your teams games without actually playing them, so hopefully there will be some updates where I lose.

PowerPros win pitcher’s duel 3-0 to extend winning streak to 3 games:

After sweeping the 2 game series against the Diamondbacks, PowerPros pitching seemed to be unstoppable, they only reinforced that idea in game one against the Dodgers. Roberto Vicente pitched a complete game shutout, allowing no walks, striking out 9, allowing 5 hits. Lowe, for the Dodgers, pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing 7 hits, striking out 7, allowing 1 run, on a Dolby Nagy solo home run, Broxton allowed 2 runs in relief of Lowe, 1 driven in by Tim Inidator, and 1 scored by him, driven in by Ltrf Phkrds. After the game, Nagy was asked how it felt to hit a home run in the major leagues. “It’s a great feeling, you really can’t describe it, if you want to know you’ll just have to hit one yourself.”
(I set this game to "watch" so it was CPU vs CPU)

PowerPros achieve 4 game winning streak with 4-0 win against Dodgers:

The PowerPros continue their hot start, beating the Dodgers 4-0, Maxwell of the PowerPros pitched 8 shutout innings, leaving Fireballer to close things out, he almost allowed another run but a great play by shortstop William Hunter got him out of it. Ltrf Phkrds drove in the game’s first run in the second inning, the pitching staff didn’t need any more help, but Tim Inidator crushed his 4th and 5th home runs, driving in the other 3 runs. PowerPros manager Death Johnson was interviewed after the game, “It’s great, getting off to a 4-0 start like this, especially in our first season. If we keep this pace up, I don’t see any reason why we can’t make the playoffs.”

PowerPros extend streak with 4-2 victory to complete sweep

In their last game before heading out on a road trip, the PowerPros showed their first signs of weakness, trailing in a game for the first time this year, however, they scored three runs in the 6th to turn it into a 3-1 lead, two runs were driven in by a Tim Inidator single, he was thrown out at second, trying to extend to a double. Lucien Malzhan gave up a home run his first pitch of relief, making it a 3-2 game in the 8th, in the bottom half, Tim Inidator homered to make it a 4-2 lead, he’s proven himself as the star hitter of the team on multiple occasions. They wouldn’t need the insurance though as Fikac closed out the save, partially thanks to a great stop by William Hunter to end the game. Brady Reeves took the win, and Loaiza lost the game for the Dodgers. On another note, PowerPros manager, Mr.Johnson, is getting sick of Robert’s bad hitting performance, “I understand how players can struggle sometimes, but this is a bit beyond that at this point, he’s 3-18 with no RBI, he hasn’t had any good contact on the ball lately, it seems every single time Harrison singles, Robert is right behind him to hit into a double play, if he doesn’t pick it up soon, I will have to take him out of the lineup, maybe a few days off will do him good.”

A Good Road Trip Leaves PowerPros sole leaders of the NL West:

Road Trip Summary:

Game 1 VS Diamondbacks: Diamondbacks win 3-2, Win: Webb, Loss: Gobble, HR: Young, Reynolds, Snyder

Game 2 VS Diamondbacks: PowerPros win 11-10, Win: Moss, Loss: Haren, Save: Fireballer, HR: Tim, Tim, Evert. PowerPros had 19 hits, Diamondbacks had 22.

Game 3 VS Diamondbacks: Diamondbacks win 7-6 in 11 innings. Win: G.Ortiz, Loss: Price, Blown Save: Fikac, HR: C.Young, Byrnes, Reynolds (walk off), Snyder (2 runs, tied game in 9th), Tim, D.Nagy.

Game 4 VS Diamondbacks: Diamondbacks win 1-0 thanks to a walkoff hit by Drew. Win: D.Davis, Loss: Vicente, HR: None.

Game 1 VS Rockies: Rockies win 2-0. Win: K.Wells, Loss: Maxwell, Save: Fuentes, HR: Helton

Game 2 VS Rockies: PowerPros win 7-4. Win: K.Parker, Loss: F.Morales, HR: Hawpe.

Game 3 VS Rockies: PowerPros win 11-4 Win: Whiteman, Loss: Cook, Save: Gobble (pitched 3 innings, pretty much in a mop-up spot, I don’t know why the CPU hits a level 7 slider so much better than a level 1), HR: Holliday, Holliday, Torrealba.

Game 1 VS Dodgers: PowerPros win 6-2. Win: Gregorio, Loss: D.Lowe, Save: Fireballer, HR: Tim (498 ft to left field), Evert (insurance runs).

Game 2 VS Dodgers: PowerPros win 4-2. Win: Kaito, Loss: Schmidt, Save: Fikac, HR: Kent.

Game 3 VS Dodgers: PowerPros win 1-0. Win: Vicente, Loss: Loaiza, Save: Fikac, HR: None.

Additional Note(s): Starting Rotation got really messed up for a few games, moved Gregorio from Long Reliever to 6th Starter, called up Price as Long Reliever. Robert is expected to miss a few games soon as his performance has not improved, before the road trip he was hitting 3-18 (.167), at the end of the trip he is hitting 11-66 (.167) there are rumours the PowerPros are trying to trade him, but it is doubtful other teams will actually want him.

PowerPros win 3-1 at home against the Rockies: Kevin Parker pitched a complete game, only 1 strikeout, surprisingly, he allowed a home run on the last out against Tulowitzki. Tim Inidator hit his 11th home run to give the PowerPros a 2-0 lead in the 4th inning. Most of the Rockies hits were singles that were quickly followed by double plays, Cook took the loss in this game to make his record 1-2. Parker won this game to improve his record to 3-0.

Now that you mention it, it was pretty epic, all games decided by 1 run in the late innings (8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th).

I'm kinda wondering right now if, for fun, I should register some of my best players into free agency, not sign them, see who does, and see if it helps their team any.

PowerPros Bullpen Almost Blows Huge Lead in 10-7 Victory:

PowerPros starter Maxwell pitched 6 shutout innings before being taken out to preserve his arm. The PowerPros were ahead by a wide margin at that point. However, Malzhan and Fireballer came out of the bullpen, splitting 2+ innings, allowing 4 home runs and 7 runs. Fikac was brought in for the 9th to close out the save to extend the PowerPros winning streak to 7 games. Robert had the day off to rest. “Even when Robert’s ready to be put back into the lineup, he’ll have to earn his way back to the number 2 spot, Nagy has done more with that spot in one day than Robert has done all month.” – Death Johnson, PowerPros manager, after the game.

That would have been awful if your bullpen blew the game!

I think you need to up the difficulty a bit... 11 home runs in one month?

I was thinking of turning up the difficulty, but I'm not sure if I should make the CPU pitch better or hit better.
Also, the rest of my team combined doesn't even have half that many home runs. But Tim has 255 power and he barely gets any other kinds of hits. If he gets a mistake pitch or predicts a fastball in the right spot, he'll always send it a good 450 feet or so :P
