I'm starting to wonder if the key to a good season is to create a whole mess of custom success story players. I have one in my current season. My character's stats are reasonable. Better yet, the salary is low. After I finish this season, which is more or less a test run anyway, I'm going to create some more success story players as cheap substitutes. It's time for a team of rookies! Edit: The lack of replies may have already answered this, but is there a flaw in my plan? Is there some reason I shouldn't do this? |

There is nothing wrong with doing that, it is just that we all kind of figured that out already. Sorry. |

GCG, created players are cheaper when you put them on your team from the start. It sounds like you're going to put players in the free agent pool then sign them (you can only put them in the free agent pool after the game starts). They're a LOT more expensive then. |

Depends. I just did that with a team using 25 Success Mode players and my salary is up around 120k. Granted I think I went a little overboard with some of the stats. |

It's just that it seemed so deceptively obvious and simple that I was wondering if there is a catch somewhere. In my mind I was like "Well, this does some obvious and most people here have already figured it out. But it can't be this simple and easy, can it?" Zumikaku - No, I wasn't intending on making them free agents. I created one character already, and it let me port him directly onto the team with no hassle. IIRC, the game allows so many free spaces to move custom character directly to the team. |

Well you import them into Season Mode which makes them a free agent which you can then add to your team. It's not really direct but it takes like 5 seconds. |

OK, time for a big explanation: At the start of season mode, you can import created players into the empty spots on your team. However, once the season starts, any created players you import are free agents. When you sign a created player from the free agents pool, their salaries are way bigger than the ones you put on your team from the start. |

I see. No, I was planning to finish the season as is for just one year. Then I'll crank up the difficulty and start over again. At that point, I'll create some more success mode characters before starting my new campaign. Weird Science! ![]() |

It won't always be cheaper. My created were mostly maxed out or close to maxed out players. Maxed out players cost 15000 at most and if you have 5 hitters and 5 pitchers with that salary, its 150000 on you already. After that, the other players might be close to 50000 and you have the yankees salary. It works if you make sub par or just par players. |

Ah, I found the catch I was looking for. Thanks for the heads up. I knew this was too good to be true. |
