I am going to start a season mode of the Oakland Athletics, but this log will be a little different. I will not be playing ANY of the games. In season mode, you are the general manager, and in real baseball, the general manager does not control or play any of the individual games, so I'm not going to here. I will go through the seasons simply as the general manager. I will fast forward each individual game, non of that fast forwarding days at a time. I will control call-ups and send-downs and obviously trades and free agent signings. I do not know how this will go, I've never tried this before. If any of you HAVE tried doing season mode like this, I would love some tips. Here we go. March 24, 2008 OAKLAND -- Just one day before the start of the 2008 regular season, the Oakland Athletics have hired a new general manager for the team. After a long, hopeless offseason and spring training, it seemed the Athletics might start the season without a proper general manager in place, but owner Lewis Wolff made the decision just hours ago to appoint John Smith (random, common name) as the new general manager. A lot of fans are a little on edge about this decision, but at the same time are very pleased to have an actual general manager finally. Quote: I'm very happy to finally get the job. I plan to do everything in my power along with Lewis' approval to make this team the best in the game. I should be ready to go very soon. I can't wait to take full control of all my responsibilities and you can bet something big should be coming in the near future. - John Smith

March 24, 2008 OAKLAND -- Coming off a 76-86 season in 2007, the Oakland Athletics come into 2008 with a brand new general manager. The general manager has promised improvement in hopes of getting the Athletics back to the playoffs after missing it for a year. The Athletics have a decent team as of today, but will probably need to make some moves during the season if they hope to make the playoffs this season, but it is unsure if many moves will be made with this being John Smith's first season as general manager. While there are only four teams in the American League west, it is a very tough division with the Angels, Mariners, and Rangers. The Angels won the division crown in 2007, making them the biggest challenge to beat this season as well as the Mariners who also finished ahead of them in second place last season. March 24, 2008 OAKLAND -- After just being awarded the General Manager job, John Smith has already made a few free agent acquisitions. The Athletics have acquired right handed pitcher Hideo Nomo, 39, with a one-year, 600 point contract, left-handed pitcher Chuck James, 26, with a one-year, 390 point contract, catcher Mike DiFelice, 38, to a one-year, 390 point contact, and infielder Tomas Perez, 34, to a one-year, 600 point contract. All players have been sent to triple-A Sacramento, but could be with the major league club very soon. Here is a full roster for 2008 including age, years in majors, contract years, and salary. Code: Player: Age Years in Contract Salary

If it's ok with you, I'm going to copy a lot of your format that you use for your Pirates log. Obviously not the games, but everything else will be very similar to your log. |

I'm fine with that, take anything out of it you want. And the rosters are the original ones right? |

There's only four pitchers in the default starting rotation, and only two of those four with stamina above a C. |

April 10, 2008 TORONTO -- After eight straight losses to start the season, the Athletics have finally won their first game. Joe Blanton earned his first win, and Huston Street his first save. This has been a very rough start to begin the 2008 season, but just one win can turn the entire team around and hopefully get them on track. Although, if players do not improve, some moves might have to be made to improve this team now, or for the future if this season gets out of hand. |

Yikes! And what is Rich Harden's stamina again? I edited him so I have no clue but Blantom is really your only innings eating which is a huge problem because Oakland wasn't gifted with pitchers to go long in this game |

Harden's default stamina is 90 |

That's somewhere close to where I thought I think if anything you need a stamina pitcher through a trade while your starters like Harden can work their stamina up over time |
