I was goofing around at baseball-reference, checking out the “cup of coffee” list (players who only appeared in one game) and created a roster. Each of these players had a career ending debut that was especially unique.

Why do they call it "cup of coffee"? I've never understood that.

Anyways, ya this would be a good idea.

Because the player was in the big leagues long enough to have a cup of coffee and not much else. In fact, slang like this is usually rooted in literal truth, so I wouldn't be surprised if was coined by a player who was called up for a game, sat on the bench and drank coffee, and then returned to the sand lot the next day. Players still down copious amounts of coffee (and Red Bull) during games.

How about heaviest or slowest players for each position ? Or great players that had great stats but didn't get to play in an all-star match in their career. Or select a team's greatest year, and create the players from that squad. Examples may include; Tampa Bay 2008, Toronto BlueJays 1992/93, Pittsburgh Pirates 90-93 I think, the 3 straight years they were knocked out by the Braves I think. San Diego Padres 1997
