So, in my Cubs season mode I was just given an AMAZING offer from the Astros and I almost immediately agreed to, but now I'm hesitating. The offer is:

CUBS get:
Derek Jeter
Dave Borkowski
Jack Cassel

ASTROS get:
Sam Fuld (Great Duncan)

Now, that seems like an awesome trade, except for Derek Jeter's uber high salary at 20,200 points on a contract that will end the season after this season. I want Derek Jeter, but I don't want his high salary. What do you think I should do?

It depends on your SS, if he's good(I think your shortstops prob Theriot) then I don't think you need another high contract because Soriano, Ramirez, Lee, Zambrano and etc are alot of money(I think)

I accepted the trade. Theriot was a good contact hitter, but he only had one homer all season. Jeter's giving me good contact AND some more power than Theriot had.

now, ChiCubs, you can trade Jeter away for say Hanley Ramirez.

(you might have to reload a bit, but it should be fine.)

Yeah, that was a good offer. You can always use jeter as trade bait.

Well now it's August and I have to keep Jeter at least until the end of this season.

Even better then. After the season, you can trade for Hanley and convert him to a different position like LF or 1B, since his fielding isn't good enough for shortstop (at least in my opinion).

In my '07 game with the Mendenhals, I changed Robinson Tejeda to a Catcher, and he hit a few homers. In '08, if you get Augie Ojeda, convert him to a P (F CTRL, E STAM), and teach him a breaking ball.

Change Tim Stauffer and Will Ohman to fielders too. Ohman has D's in every hitting category, and Stauffer has All D's except in Speed.

Stauffer would be a good RF, and Ohman a good 2B.
