I CANNOT figure out good settings for CPU batting in season mode! If I have the setting of CPU batting on expert, my pitchers do 1-2-3 innings, but if I put the setting on All-Star, my pitcher gives up 7 runs in one inning! HELP! What do I do?! |

Dont throw the same pitches to them. Throw balls. Dont throw strikes all the time. The computer is fooled by changeups alot. |

So... it's my pitching? Not their batting? I DO need pitching help. Pitching is the most frustrating part for me. The opposing batters are like the learning robots you see in movies and TV shows. For example: I struck out two guys in a row once with a high curve ball. The third guy jacked one out of the park on the same pitch, and I instantly knew it was time to try something different. How do I fix my consistency, and learn to mix things up with each batter? I don't always remember the pitch sequence of the past batter to know how to fool the current batter. |

Throw high inside fastballs etc. |

So, the best thing to do is throw slightly out of the strike zone? |

Well, I've discovered one strategy. I'm doing defense in practice mode, and EVERY time I throw a low curveball, it's hit on the ground. Not a single low curveball got up in the air even in the slightest. |

Depends on contact. If you make contact in the middle, you tend to pull the ball and if you hit towards the end of the bat, you push the ball. Hitting the higher part of the bat causes pop ups. Lower part gives you groundballs. The earlier you hit it, it will pull more. If you hit a pitch that breaks outside the strikezone, if might be a bloop single. Sorry for off topic, but this is how the computer hits pitches. |

Always go with the harder setting. You'll probably be a better player by the time you're through with a more realistic W-L record. |

Well, I did a lot of defense practice, went back to the game, and I won the game 7-2 with the CPU batting on All-Star. |

I never throw anything high and I've done fine on All-Star. Just keep the ball low and mix pitches and speeds.(do the rapid-fire X-button thing one pitch then don't the next) |

jam hitters, that should keep them at fewer than 6/7 hits per game. You won't get strikeouts though. |

I feel the same way. One of the reasons that I got 08 was because the last version was too easy. I played my season with KC and usually lost only three to five games a month. It got boring fast. So, i get 08's version. I figure that I would play on the hardest setting (powerful). Uh yeah, that was a mistake. I can usually keep it close for awile. Then they get their big inning and I lose. |
