Post subject:  SanFran Giants Log (Dream Draft)
It was sure to be remembered when looking at the league's history, but whether it was a good thing was left for debate...

The San Francisco Giants ended up with the first pick, and they immediately chose the one guy they knew they wouldn't get later, the cornerstone of their new franchise for years to come.
With the first pick of the 2009 MLB "Dream Draft", as Bud Selig called it for some strange reason, the Giants and Steven Jackson, the prospect pitcher turned GM (he's a real guy, just not in this log :wink: ) chose David Wright. (edited)

The actual drafted roster as well as trades and such, will be announced to you guys after Opening Day.


UPDATE:
At Dodger Stadium, the Giants and Dodgers are playing in the premier matchup on Opening Day.
But the game is already over in the... 1st inning?
That's right (I forgot to set batting to normal :o ), the Giants just had a 12 run inning, including a leadoff HR by Matt Kemp and a grand slam by... Matt Kemp!
The only other thing noteworthy is that Prince Fielder has stolen probably the only base he'll steal all season. A sportscaaster attending the game said that David Wright was laughing to himself as he saw Fielder chugging along into second base, safe by a hair. Wright then proceeded to hit a 2-run homer to dead center. :lol:

i edited david wright to be, well, insane.
and i mean insane.
anyways, my SP has given up 2 runs in 4 innings so far, and our bats are basically done for the day.

It's fine, Youk isn't that great in this, even when you edit him
So what's your current lineup and maybe you could trade lewis or murphy for someone good because you already have 4 outfielders on the bench(Murphy, Lewis, Doumit, DeRosa)

DeRosa was traded.

Sjax, you have an all-star lineup but you could shore up the bullpen a little bit.
I would try Hall for Upton, and then get Fernando Cabrera, Joel Zumaya, Denny Bautista, or possibly Joba Chamberlain.

Unfortunately, they're holding out for now...
They've got 2 days to respond.
Of course, I got greedy and decided that i could reload w/ 2 stars if they give me around 10000 P. :lol:

And I probably should trade Murphy, i need at least one former giant with bengie gone. :wink:

But I was thinking somebody like J.C. Romero (edited, of course)

It is official.
Cole Hamels is a Giant, and so are Scott Schoenweis and Scott Baker.
Oswalt, Chris Young and Casey Janssen, however, have packed their bags and are heading over to the White Sox.
Hamels had this to say:
"I can't believe it, after all that with the draft and stuff, I get traded. Personally, though, I think the Giants got the best of the White Sox, not just because of me. I just hope I'll be able to contribute to this team."

By the way, Schoenweis will help shore up my bullpen, won't he, Longball?
