((I decided to discontinue my player log because I took it in a direction I just realized I shouldn’t have. A rookie mistake and I can’t brainstorm myself out of it. Plus this board is moving slow, and it needs some juice injected into the bloodstream.)) Things don’t look good for the young team that made the World Series last year; a draft has been called – involving all players. Some say it’s a conspiracy since the team made it to the World Series, others say it is needed. Then, you have the Yankee haters, who say George paid for it all. Who knows? When reporter John Stevenson asked Andrew Friedman, General Manager of the Rays, what he thought of the draft he said this: “We’ll have to deal with it – that’s all we can do, right? I’d like to draft some of the younger talent we had on our team again, mainly Crawford, Longoria, and Kazmir. One of our other goals will be to acquire a solid bullpen of young talent. We will be busy this season, and forced to use up most of our funds just to scout players.” As one can see, the Rays have a lot on their plate right now, we here just hope they can deal with it. Especially since they are a young club in one of the best divisions in the majors; only time will tell… |

Any suggestions on who I should draft? I usually get Linecum, Cain, Kazmir, Penny, Hamels, and Longoria and let the computer sim the rest. So, any tips?!?! |

yovani gallardo will fall pretty far, he'll be a steal. i always draft a hitter (ichiro or pujols usually) with the 1st pick, but use the first 7-9 rounds to get my rotation done (except for gallardo) and to get one solid reliever/closer. then i can focus on hitting. |

You can get Felix Hernandez with the 3rd pick, (if not reload until you do), and I think Lincecum you can get with the 4th or 5th. Here, search for "Dream Draft Strategies" in the search box in the top right. It's a thread I started for Dream Draft that fell into disuse. |
