All the tips anybody needs for doing a dream draft! I'll start off with mine... * please note, these are what happens most of the time. If things are different when you draft, simply exit and draft again. Hanley Ramirez and Jorge Posada can be drafted in the second round. Felix Hernandez can be drafted in the 3rd round. Kosuke Fukudome and B.J. Upton can be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round. Matt Cain can be drafted in the 4th or 5th round. Tim Lincecum can be drafted in the 6th round. Prince Fielder, Ryan Howard, Fausto Carmona, Dan Uggla, and Brian McCann can be drafted in the 7th round. Hunter Pence can be drafted in the 9th/10th round. James Loney (14 spd 1B/DH) can be drafted in the 9th round. I know there are some others, like Joba Chamberlain and Joel Zumaya (15-17th round) that last very late and have good potential. Others to watch out for: Anibal Sanchez (Marlins) - better than Phil Hughes!!! 5 curve and also spin 4. (10th round) Phil Hughes (Yankees) - good young pitcher. (>10th round) Justin Verlander (Tigers) - young starter with 99 mph top speed. Jeff Karstens (Yankees) - bad control and stamina, low top speed, but excellent potential with spin 4 and good breakers. Late pick. Fernando Cabrera (Orioles) - closer with HUGE potential, excellent CB and SPLT, best closer available in later rounds. (>10) Billy Butler (Royals) - very young 1B; good enough to DH regularly, available in 30th round! |

Heres somes steals in my opinion. Morneau in 3rd RD. Cano in 4th RD. Braun in 7th RD. Evan Longoria in 19th RD. Saltalamacchia in 21st RD. You dont nesscesary have to have stud pitchers, I usually go for batters. I got 8 respectable pitchers in RD 10~20 |

Lincecum goes earlier than Cain, at the very least. |

In real life, duh. But I'm not using edited players and stuff. Did a test draft, Matt Cain is gone at the 4th round. A few picks later, Lincecum goes. Maybe it changes each time. I don't know. Once I got Mark Teixieria in the second round. I never got him again, no matter how many times I reloaded. |

in the first mlb power pros, i actually taught him a knuckleball. Imagine, a 75 mph knuckleball. edit: I did the draft in 2008. I had him in one of my franchises in 2007. Clearing things up just in case... |

my typical strategy is to get a all around fielder (like ichiro) with my first pick, and by round 10-12, i have my five-man rotation. My two main things I look for are Contact and Run Speed. I always make sure i have a guy with at least a 9 in contact and 12 in run speed for a leadoff guy, and at least one guy with an a in power. i wait on a closer, and usually pick a good reliever instead to fill that spot. finally, i always get at least two backups that could start for many teeams, 1 IF, 1 OF, in case someone's condition is down (An example is that in my franchise, ryan theriot is in very bad condition, so kevin kouzmanoff is filling in. matt kemp is the OF backup. |
