Yeah this is going to be a bad log. Well I'll try to make it good. Anyway I simmed until 2011 and played as the Giants. I made sure to trade all the good players for points. I also made sure to lose about 100 games twice in 2009 and 2010. The plot is outdone, but it should be good enough. |

Chapter 1 : The Massacre is Over "I hate my job," said a very sleepy Anthony S. Wright. Anthony Wright was the assistant GM to the most unfavorite GM ever, John Rodriguez. He had traded many of the key players that made Anthony Wright want to come to the Giants in the first place. The Giants in 2008 went 78-83. The year after, Rodriguez traded away many of the players that led them to win 78 games. Examples are Aaron Rowand, Barry Zito, Ray Durham, Tim Lincecum, Omar Vizquel, and Rich Aurilla. These are among the many traded away. This led the Giants to lose 100 games in 2009. The team focused on getting prospects, but many were not great. For example, first rounder Barry Reynolds has not played a game yet and batted .230 in the minors, first rounder in 2009 Cody Mills fielded a 4.62 ERA, and last year's first rounder Don Enochs fielded a 5.45 ERA. The team also had to pick up unsigned draftees and the team fielded a very, very young team in 2010. They had a 64-98 standing that year though. They did win two more games. This year the Giants ended up dropping Matt Cain and let him go to FA with some relievers. Anthony Wright slowly went to work since John Rodriguez told him to meet him. He didn't like him as he thought of players almost as indentured servents and would ussually always lowball at league minimum or no deal at all. Wright believed that players should get paid what they deserve and not just league minimum. He was different as he almost acted like a second bench coach to Theodore Grimes. After Rodriguez fired Bochy over his salary, Theodore Grimes, a former D1 college player, took his place for a very low rate. This lost him many of the players that they had making them field the youngest team last year. He slowly pulled him into the parking lot. And walked him into John's office. "Hello Anthony," said John Rodriguez "Hello Mr. Rodriguez," said Anthony, "Why did you call this meeting?" "Well, I'm retiring. The owner and I have talked about it and you are the new GM! Congratulations!" said John. "Thanks," said Anthony, "Why are you so happy?" "Well, I hate this job, too many players and their dumb emotions. Plus I can't get to the Owner's goal," said John. "What goal?" asked Anthony. "Well, he is going to move the team if the Giants don't get to 90 wins or a postseason game," said John. "What?!?" yelled Anthony. "Well, good luck," said John as he left the office. "Well, I have to win this year," said Anthony. And with that, Anthony went for atleast a postseason game. He didn't tell the players. He only told Micheal Grimes who Anthony had become a good friend of. He was also not able to make any more chances at the players the Giants would lose in contract negotiations, but he was pretty confident. So was Micheal Grimes about this team. His original roster looked like this: Lineup: 1. LF Fred Lewis - 2BEDCEE 2. SS Jose Castillo - 2EDCEED 3. 2B Marco Scutaro - 2CDEECD 4. 3B Barry Reynolds - 2CDFEFE 5. RF Dan Ortmeier - 2EDDDEB 6. Post subject: | Re: San Francisco Giants |
September 28, 2004 It was my game. It was AA and I was already promised a spot in the majors.. I had to lead the team up to this win. I had to get it. The first inning went fine. Two ground outs and one fly ball. Nothing special. The second inning is where I saw I was gettting worse. My control was gone. I was luckily able to get my first out on a 93 MPH fastball. That was definently one of my slowest fastball in my career. But I went on. I then throw a 90 MPH heater at Chris. All hell could've broken loose there. Tensions ran high as almost everyone knew about my rivalry with Chris. We were the two best players in AA and it wouldn't be the first time I would ever hit him. Most of the times it was on purpose. Today it wasn't. Tensions rose as I couldn't get another fastball in the strike zone. My next pitch was another heater that curved in at the next hitter's head. He ducked, but that didn't make Chris happy. He charged the mound. I didn't really expect this. I didn't expect the fastball to curve either and expected to throw a strike. It seemed that wasn't happening. Chris landed a punch right on my jaw and broke a tooth. I then threw a punch back at him. It missed as Chris got another punch landed. I wasn't going to win this fight and ended up being beat up badly. However all around me, the fight was worse tha nwhat I got in. Our manager even got in the fight and had been knocked down and broke his tailbone. My teammates lost theirs badly, Charlie Mills got a concussion, Luke McCellan had two bruises, and Joey Gates, our strongest player, got beaten up badly. He was our veteran and when he got beat up everyone was in that fight. We were all hot heads is all I can say. It ended up having the most ejections ever in a AA game with twenty-three players getting ejected, both managers, our bench coach, and all the 1st and 3rd Base Coaches. Most of the players though had already been injured and the game was forfeited. It was terrible. More Background For me when I went to the hospital, they found I had broken my ACL. Not only that, but I had to have major surgery to my face for all the fighting me and Chris got in. Chris actually somehow escaped without a single scar, but had a pretty long suspension he was serving. When the league found I was injured, I was given a lesser suspension 10-game suspension to Chris's 50-game suspension. He had not only broke my jaw, but also gave Mills his concusion with a blow to a head and even knocked down our manager. I was never the same pitcher. In 2005 when I returned to the Rookie League I gave up ten runs in an inning and wasn't able to record a single out. My pitching career was over and tried to become a first baseman. I became a hitter, a first baseman. And I wasn't bad, but I had no power. I hit .270 with no homeruns for the AA Giants, but was told I would never get a chance. I tried to use my business degree to sell hot dogs at a restauraunt called Ducks. It was not as good and after 2008 season was offered a GM assistant job to the Giants. The Giants had just won 80 some games. The team was great. It was filled of great players with Tim Lincecum, Aaron Rowand, and others. The team wa not so great in 2009 after the team traded our great players and had a really budget team. We made $100,000,000 in 2009 with 50% of our profits from trading our players. We would make $40,000,000 in 2010, but San Francisco and the ownership wanted a championship and not so much $40,000,000. You could pay players as cheap as possible, but when there was no attendance you couldn't do much. And I knew that we needed to win too. And when he quit, I had to take his job which was great. I could make this team what I never could be. A champion. I had made it there by pitching in AA, but now I had the chance to do it. And it was now or never. |

San Diego Padres (0-0) vs. San Francisco Giants (0-0) April 2nd to 3rd "Well, it's time to see what the Giants can do," said the GM Wright. The Padres are not a great team, but does have some very good(and aging) starters to keep the Giants on edge. Key Players: Jake Peavy - SP 96BA, 2SFB-2, SLD-5, CB-3, HSNK-3, CHG-4 Bio: Jake Peavy has been the Padres ace for years. He's a great pitcher and in his prime(30 years old). Analysis: The Giants will have a hard time hitting Peavy. His slider is unhittable and backs that up with other great secondary stuff. Kevin Kouzmanoff - 3B 3DBDDFF Bio: Kevin Kouzmanoff has been a great third baseman for the Padres for five years. His fielding may not be great, but his hitting makes him a threat in their line-up Analysis: Kouzmanoff hits second, but is their best hitter in their line-up. He really hits lefties well so our mostly lefty staff will have to watch out for him. Jim Edmonds - CF 2ECFABC Bio: Jim Edmonds is 41 and still going strong. His hitting is average to above average, but he has the best fielding in the league. Analysis: When the ball is in Edmonds hands he throws rockets. He's a gold glover too so it'll be hard to hit a ball to center. Projected Pitching Match-ups: Game 1 LHP Scott Kazmir vs. RHP Jake Peavy Scott Kazmir's first start will be against the Padre's ace Jake Peavy. Expect this game to be a pitcher's match to the end. Game 2 LHP Noah Lowry vs. RHP Clay Hensley Noah Lowry was our #1 Starter last year. He was able to field a 4 ERA and hopes to improve on that this year. Clay Hensley has control issues and is very bad against lefties. |

![]() Key Players: Carl Crawford - 2-6 with HR and 4 RBIs Adam LaRoche - 3-6 with HR and 4 RBIs Yorman Bazardo - 1.1 IP, 1H, 0ER, 0K Summary: It was supposed to be a pitcher's match. It quickly became the opposite. In the first inning, this was clear to see. Jake Peavy gave up 3 runs in the first inning! He would not be the only one scored heavily against as Scott Kazmir gave up 7 ER in 5 and 1/3 innings. The 7th inning is where the Giants would take over but Misch and Walker would be beaten up badly. Bazardo came in and saved the day and pitched 1 and 1/3 scoreless innings. In the ninth, Brian Wilson gave up two hits and one earned run. The Giants barely won in this high run scoring game. |

![]() Key Players: Noah Lowry - 6.2 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 K Adam LaRoche - 4-5, 4 HR, 5 RBIs, 4 R Fernando Hernandez - 2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 0 K Summary: Noah Lowry pitched a great game. The only trouble he had was in the seventh inning where he got taken out after 6.2 innings of work. Other than that, Lowry didn't do much wrong as his first run was on an error by Barry Reynolds. Fernando Hernandez finished the game with 2.2 perfect innings. Adam LaRoche hit 4 homeruns with 5 RBIs. He was able to hit his 150th home run too on his third home run of the day. The Giants are doing great right now. |

San Francisco Giants (2-0) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (1-1)[/i][/size] April 4th to 7th "So the Dodgers are coming in on some heartbreak losses," said Micheal Grimes, "Let's kill kick the Dodgers when they're down." Key Players: Ben Sheets - SP (1-0) 1.50 ERA, 6 IP, 8 K 97CA, H-SLD-2, DCB-5, CHG-3 Bio: Ben Sheets has battled with injuries for years. He has battled back against the injuries and has been dominant. Analysis: The Giants will have a hard time hitting Sheets. His ERA has been great and will be a key factor in game four of the series. Russell Martin .143/.143/.143, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 SB 3CBDCCB Bio: Russell Martin has been a great player for years. He is an above average contact hitter with good power. His defense is great too! Analysis: Martin is 28 years old and has been a great catcher. An All-Star player with great defense, he looks to be a great threat in this series. Aaron Rowand - CF .429/.500/.429, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 SB 3CBBEBD Bio: Rowand is an allstar center fielder. Most of the Dodger's fielders could be argued as all-stars, but Rowand is special as he is their third hitter and is a very good fielder. Analysis: Aaron Rowand's defense is great, but his offense is better. A former Giant, it will be interesting to see how he hits our pitching. Projected Pitching Match-ups: Game 1 RHP Chad Gaudin vs. RHP Brad Penny Analysis:Gaudin will face Brad Penny in Game 1 of the series. With both very strong pitchers, it will be fun to see the pitcher's dual unless the Giants offense goes off again. Game 2 RHP Mark Prior vs. RHP Matt Belisle Analysis:Both starters have struggled. Mark Prior will hope to improve on his 7.23 ERA while Matt Belisle hopes his sub-5 ERA will be good enough to beat the Giants. If anything expect an offensive explosion. Game 3 RHP Eddie Pettyjohn vs. LHP Hong-Chih Kuo (0-0, 27 ERA) Analysis:Kuo has already played his first game and already has an inning under his belt. Kuo also gave up 3 ER and a HR. Pettyjohn hopes to get a great first start and prove his worth. Game 4 RHP Hans Tollberg vs. RHP Ben Sheets (1-0, 1.50 ERA) Analysis:Tollberg will have his first start against ace Ben Sheets. It will test his pitching ability against a strong line-up. Ben Sheets will hope to continue his success in his first start. |

Thanks AgentP! Anyway, there will be Agents and Coaches. Agents can decide almost everything with their players, but mostly to say what their players will practice, influence line-ups, demand trades, and other things like may demand salaries. Also may give their own players personalities. Coaches Pitching Coach- decide what every pitcher without an agent practices. Hitting Coach - decide what every fielder without an agent practices Bench Coach - Make line-up decisions, well atleast influence the decisions. Assistant GM - Makes some decisions, but mostly influences trades and drafts Main Scout - Makes most decisions in draft and supposed to scout and make the previews(but I will make them anyway) |

One day some pitching coach just came. "Wait we have enough money to pay a pitching coach," said Anthony. "I didn't hire him, I'm just the manager," said Grimes. "Hey you are we paying you?" asked Anthony. No answer. "I'll just take free labor with no pay," said Anthony. |

![]() Key Players: Carl Crawford - 3-5, HR, 2 2Bs, 4 RBIs, 2 Rs Adam LaRoche - 4-5, 3 HRs, 1 2B, 4 RBIs, 4 Rs Fred Lewis - 3-5, RBI Summary: What seems to be a pattern with the Giant's season, the offense exploded. There were 7 home runs. Three of these came from Adam LaRoche who's really hot right now. His 8 HRs is the most in his career and could be a career year for him. Holm and Minges both were injured and Frandsen was put at catcher. To sum the game is to say pitching sucked. The Dodgers seemed to have the upper hand though with 7 runs by the top of the ninth. The Giants somehow scored 4 runs with LaRoche and Crawford heavy bats and created a 3-run lead. Brian Wilson could not pitch a good ninth and gave up 3 ER runs in a third of an inning. Pat Misch was able to get a scoreless out, but was not able to close the game at 10-10 causing Wilson to get 4 ER. Injury Report: Both Minges and Holm shall return for the next game. Depth Chart: Yorman Bazardo has become the closer. Brian Wilson has become a setup-man. |
