That was an epic fail on my part

First of all I did no use my relief pitchers right and probably should have just saved Kevin Hart for a few innings
Lohse was not going to be a factor for me until the potential World Series so I just used him up

But the I had a guy on 1st base and ran out of pitchers in the 17th inning so I used Duke who was D contact and F power, the best guy on the bench considering Huston Street would have had to hit instead

Duke was the only guy who looked like he could pitch Game Seven, he had full rest. But since I used him as a pinch hitter for a pitcher he had to face one batter before I could switch him and I would have switched him. But Wes Helms of all people hit a bomb off of him on his 1st pitch, he's fallen to like F contact and D power. If this was real life then Duke would have an after effect of giving up a walk-off just like 16 or so hours before he makes a Game Seven start, but since it's not then it shouldn't be a problem.

So it comes down to a Game Seven.. I still think you'll be able to do this even though you've shown that this isn't a franchise where you win every game. You have to win World Series at some point! 5 years is too long for me

Too bad your bullpen is wrecked right now

National League Championship Series Game Seven

Fontenot's Homeruns Proves Decisive As Pirates Head Back To World Series

October 21 -- The Pirates and Zach Duke managed to get over last nights loss in a Game Seven victory that sends the Pirates to the World Series for the 2ND straight year hoping that this will be the year that they win it all since 1979. The Pirates came out firing with 3 runs in the 1st inning with an RBI double by Cabrera and then a 2-run homerun by Garrett Jones, the Pirates would score a run in the 2nd as well to make it 4-0. But the Marlins have came back from many deficits this series and they would again today, Hermida and Delgado singled in runs in the 2nd inning and then they scored another in the 3rd inning on an error by usually sure handed Cabrera to make it 4-3. Zach Duke let up another run in the 5th inning off of game-tying single by Jon Garland who showed his rare bat. But in maybe the most interesting play of the game, McCutchen leaped against a wall on a drive by Hanley Ramirez and he missed it and was dazed by the collision. The ball rattled around that triangle in deep left center which gave Ramirez enough time to complete the rare inside the park homerun to give the Marlins the 5-4 lead. When it appeared that the Marlins had all of the momentum, Mike Fontenot homered in 2 runs in the 7th inning off of Ross Ohlendorf to regain the lead at 6-5. Heath Bell pitched a scoreless 2 innings to make his postseason ERA 1.23 and on came Street in the 9th to try to bring Pittsburgh back to the World Series. Street retired pinch hitter John Baker for one out, then got Ramirez for the 2nd out and getting Maybin as the 3rd out would be huge as Delgado would come up after. But Street got Cameron Maybin to pop up to Ryan Doumit to end this memorable National League Championship Series as the Pirates go on to face the Red Sox as the 2012 National League Champions.

World Series Series Preview - Boston Red Sox Vs Pittsburgh Pirates

Image Image

Well the Pirates are back in the World Series against the Sox, this time against the 92-70 Red Sox. The Pirates may have met their match pitching wise as they have a rotation full of players who have been stars despite not looking great overall in the regular season. The Red Sox rotation has dominated this postseason with Beckett(1.50 ERA), Sabathia(2.00 ERA), Penny(4.50 ERA), Lester(1.00 ERA) and surprisingly Dice-K has been the best(0.64). The Red Sox bats are made of Carlos Pena, Ortiz, Brian Anderson, Ellsbury, Pedroia, Martinez, Lowrie, Youkilis and Bay and their offense produced 862 runs in 2012. Pedroia(.302) and Martinez(.300) were the only two to hit over .300 this season but they have power with Bay(32 HR), Ortiz(29 HR), Martinez(25), Youkilis(27) and their most productive hitter was Carlos Pena with 41 homeruns and 115 RBI's. The Game One matchup won't be a very dynamic one by the look of it as it's against Paul Maholm and Daisuke Matsuzaka. But both have came up with 0.64 ERA's this postseason and Maholm is the only starter left and they'll have to go with Blackburn in Game Two as Sanchez, Lohse and Duke will be better in time for Game's 3-5(if necessary). With the AL winning the all-star game this year, Game's 1 and 2 will be at Fenway Park, Games 3-5 will be in PNC Park(Game 5 if necessary) and if necessary, Games 6 and 7 will be in Fenway park.

Down Below are the rotations:

Boston Red Sox

SP - Jon Lester : 15-6, 3.45 ERA
SP - CC Sabathia : 11-8, 3.99 ERA
SP - Josh Beckett : 12-8, 4.48 ERA
SP - Brad Penny : 12-11 : 4.56 ERA
SP - Daisuke Mastuzaka : 7-11, 5.56 ERA (Game 1 Starter)

Pittsburgh Pirates

SP - Anibal Sanchez : 14-5, 2.90 ERA
SP - Zach Duke : 16-8, 4.03 ERA
SP - Kyle Lohse : 12-6, 3.77 ERA
SP - Paul Maholm : 12-9, 4.11 ERA
SP - Rich Blackburn: 9-5, 4.75 ERA

you know what guys I think I may be done with this. I can't keep doing this every day and I need to keep this off my mind for some time
The truth is I've been somewhat struggling in school and in MY own decision I'm going to lay off this kind of stuff and focus more on school and other important things

I know it was kind of stupid how I did right before the World Series but it's the right thing to do.

But I MIGHT still do the world series, I already did the first game and saved it but the stupid internet said I was not logged in so it deleted anything from the post of the 1st game and so that's about it for that

Oh no... the inevitable "I got bored" post... the shame...

It's okay, I get bored with my teams too.

Yeah I did get kind of bored and I wanted to just move on in my Pirates franchise too because I can't play any other season modes because I updated rosters and they're going to be very bad looking I use them now

and I'm ready to move on. I didn't really get bored I just need to stop devoting time to this

Some good memories but it's all over... without a World Series championship too

but I'll tell you all what happens if I make it through Year 10 in this

My suggestion is to turn down the difficulty a little bit, go out and win the World Series, and end the thread on a high note.

Eh I already did Game One so I wouldn't be able to put it up here because a lot happened in that game (I won though)

It's kind of tough to do this for 5 months and not get a championship and make it to the world series and not play it but that's it I guess

At this point it's pretty much done. people can still talk about this and I can tell you guys what happened every so often but when I finish the 10 years then I'll do a thing where I post every team's record in the 10 years, the amount of division titles of each team, amount of pennants and world seires championships and the record for most homeruns, rbi's and etc during the 10 year span

I just lost motivation to do this and that's when you know it's done

Well I'll leave this as a good note

I won the World Series! I have the pictures and I'll attempt to get them up tonight or tommorow

With the game tied 0-0 in the 9th inning of Game 5, Susumu Ikari put himself down in history with a walk-off 2-run homerun to win the World Series

I kind of did what Longball told me to and put the difficulty now and I simulated Game 5 until the 9th inning to get a moment to do that and so we leave here with a somewhat unofficial World Championship, just doesn't seem right though

A great memory. Ikari is a hero forever after hitting a Game 5 Walk-off homerun to win the World Series for the 1st time since '79
