Tampa Bay Rays (23-24) @ Kansas City Royals (33-14)
May 24, 2013

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals won in epic fashion tonight against the Rays in one of the best games of the season. B.J. Upton made the first major impact on this game with a grand slam in the third inning. The Royals scored one run each in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to make it a one-run game, but the Rays got two more in the sixth, including a solo home run by Jonny Gomes. The Royals got those runs back in the seventh with RBI hits by Felipe Lopez and Billy Butler. With the Royals still down by a run in the ninth, Nick Johnson tied it up with a solo home run to make it 6-6. It wasn't long however, until the Rays were able to score against the Royals bullpen. Jonny Gomes hit another solo homer and Akinori Iwamura belted an RBI double to put the Rays up by two in the tenth. There was still life in the Royals in the bottom of the inning, however. With two on, Nick Johnson came to bat once again after his ninth inning heroics tying the game, and this time jacked one deep to center, and just barely over the wall for a walk-of three run homer.

May in Review

The month of May was another good one for the Royals. They have jumped from being behind the Indians last month now to six games up on them at the end of this month. They went 19-8 in the month and are now 37-17 for the year with the best record overall. One of the big stories of the month was Nick Johnson, with a batting average just over .300, 13 home runs, and 34 runs batted in in the month of May. Joakim Soria also had a great month, converting eight saves with a 0.53 ERA in the month. Both Johnson and Soria won player of the month honors for May. Leading the starting rotation so far this year for the Royals has been Kyle Davies. He currently has a major league best 1.51 ERA and a 7-1 record for the season. Gil Meche, the second best pitcher for the Royals this season, is tied for first with CC Sabathia for the major league lead in strikeouts with 105. Finally, coming into June, the draft is coming up, and the Royals are hoping to make more good selections as they have done in the past few seasons.

Ok, I am now desperate to lose some games. Does anyone know any way, any settings I can change, to help me lose more of the games I sim. I'm really starting to run away with the division and I want this to be a lot closer.

That's what I'm in trouble with. They win all the games I sim! Then, I just can't bring myself to MAKE myself lose. I'm anxious for an answer if there is one.

Also, tell Kyle Davies way to go! He has been AWESOME this year!

Yeah, he's actually leading the majors in complete games and shutouts by far.
